Do you feel Tiger fans are putting unfair expectations on LF for next season?

I think he has the potential to be a special back for LSU, but come on....some of the things I am hearing on this board are just crazy.
Do you really think he steps in as a true freshman and just dominates the SEC? Give it time and he will get there, but to expect it from the start is crazy.

He put it on himself saying he wants the Heisman.
#LF4Heisman

It's not unreasonable to think he can be one of the best RBs in the SEC next season. Gurley, Hill, Lattimore, Yeldon, etc. all excelled as freshmen.
But to expect it from any freshman is a little silly.

Yes, yes they are.
He could very well come in and dominate the SEC like you said, but expecting it before he even sets foot on campus is ridiculous.

Yes.
Most did the same to Mett in his first year starting. 19-23 y/o football players try to do too much to live up to those expectations and they don't do what got them to that level.

yes. I look for him to have about 600-700 yards next year.

Ya think?

Is Fournette an early enrollee?

Absolutely too much pressure on him already.
It's a shame really. But when he doesn't meet the 1,600 yard, 22 TD expectation, it'll all be Miles' fault, of course.

He will be better than what people are expecting. Book it.

No. I think the ones who think he does great are exactly like the ones who saw Hilliard go from back of the pack his true freshman year, to scoring 9 TDs in 6 games.
Or saw true freshman Hill run for 740 yards and 12 TDs in 8 games his true freshman year. BTW, each backfield had four other players, almost all with two years more of experience.
Or maybe they've seen that since 2010 there has been a true freshman back in the SEC with at least 850 yards rushing. Or maybe the fact that 5 true freshman backs since 2010, have gone over 1000 yards rushing, in the SEC alone.
Who cares about our expectations? They aren't hurting him. Every year, these players are coming out more and more prepared, and are putting up gaudy numbers in year one. I'm going to believe he totals 1200-1500 yards and 14-16 TDs until he doesn't.

From his own mouth.
"I plan on winning a Heisman and a national championship with my fellow teammates," Fournette said while surrounded by a throng of microphones and television cameras. "I can handle the pressure. I can handle it."
He doesn't give a frick about the hype.

Unfair? Probably.
Warranted? Perhaps.
We shall see. I honestly didn't believe the hype on Hill untill he exploded in the USCe game.
Regardless, LF will be a solid back. Our offense is built for him to excell.
However, I think his stats next year will depend a lot on how well the passing attack can rebound after losing Beckham, Landry, and Mett.
If Jennings and company struggle next year, then I expect a lot of stacked boxes.

Nah he's the #1 recruit who we've offered years ago. The expectation should be greatness and he nor anyone should be scared of it, just fueled by it.
Now there's absolutely a line between realistic high expectations and just being an idiot.

Probably, but EVERY highly ranked recruit at any school deals with the same thing. It's not something that only LSU recruits go through and will not affect him as much as you think it will.

I mean the kid got 238 yards and 3 touchdowns in his first high school game.
That's not normal.
I agree though. We all need to temper our expectations until, at least, the second half of the Wisconsin game.
