So no more extra points, no more kickoffs… might as well just eliminate field goals, too, and get rid of kickers altogether

Why not get rid of running backs as well? Make it 100% passing sport?

Do you not agree that kickoffs are less exciting now that twice as many are touchbacks?

We're going to have to rename this game that used to be called football.

How about "association football"

Or "soccer" for short.

Narrower goal posts solves this.

Hell no Poor communication on my part

I'm sick and tired of seeing kicks out the back of the endzone.

You will still be allowed to kick long field goals. This isn't a problem. This expands four-down territory, which is good.

Why can't it just stay the way it is?

what I'm saying is that it makes long field goals harder when you have a narrower goal post. that's a terrible suggestion

In another iniative, R-God would like to change the sport's name to "Ball".

The point after should be where they add 15yds for after td personal foul.

The big problem is the tension in a game isn't supposed to come from the field goal. The tension comes from the entire scoring structure. You have to retain the 6+1 and 3 and 2 scoring method. If you take that out, the entire idea of play calling changes to accommodate the value proposition of scoring.

The field goal is SUPPOSED to be a bonus. Teams have ALWAYS had the option to go for two.

Lengthening the field goal is the only way to go about "fixing" it if you have to do something.

But it shouldn't be changed at all.

I know what you're saying. It's just not very smart. There's nothing wrong about long field goals being harder.

but that's not the issue here. if you want to make extra points harder, do it, but don't change another aspect of the game just to fix one aspect

I know sports evolve all the time, but at this rate, NFL football will become barely recognizable.
It's not recognizable compared to 50 years ago, and 50 years ago wasn't recognizable compared to 50 years before, and all it's done is gotten better and better.

Definitely. The kick is pointless.
