3 series tends to attract the 30k millionaire crowd more than most other cars. Lots of dude-bros driving around like they're fricking Gordon Gekko or something.
And does that bother you?

Also, they are extremely safe.

German cars have their faults, but they tend to be very solid, crashworthy cars.

I can't really tell if the OP is getting the responses he wanted, or if this thread is going the opposite of how he planned.

No one is really agreeing, but no one is overly upset either.

Acceleration isn't the only metric for a vehicle. The 3 series, probably, drives better than its counterparts no matter if you get the 328i or something better. I don't know the badge levels offered, but I'd bet a 3 series is in the top of its class in almost every measurable. I've never even driven one but I don't think they suck, nor do I think that about the folks who drive them.

You nailed it. Why has the OT become like this?

Is it because people are wanting answers to questions they don't know and don't know how to ask it? Like about fashion trends and such.
Instead of directly asking they mock and make fun of in hopes some legit information may be gained it these threads?

BMW 3-series is a good car that drives nice. I don't see a problem.

My current car I got only because it is fast as hell and makes driving fun every day, I could not care less if people think it is appropriate for me!

Same here. Someone online made a comment on my model car the other day that I thought was funny. "I am too old to drive something that looks like this but immature enough to want to."

It's a good car for a young professional starting out but if you are over the age of 30 there is no reason to drive one

By then you should either have a bigger sedan if you want it to look professional

Makes sense...

Was thinking the same thing, but the third category he listed was something about not caring.

I think stereotyping a person by the kind of car they drive is pretty funny.
It's one of the reasons I chose my handle.

Well, plus I have a lot gold chains and silk shirts.

Everyone immediately judges other people by what they see, that's nothing new. It depends on how much of that you believe to be true.

Which is what I did when I got my Jeep a couple years ago. I had one as my first vehicle. Always wanted another one, and ended up driving a couple different Grand Cherokees as a family/travel car for about 7-8 years. Wife got an SUV and we sold the Accord, so I got what I wanted, which was a fun little vehicle.
