My boss is going to NOLA this weekend and I'm trying to get him a few ideas on where to go while he is down there. He is staying at the Roosevelt Hotel on Barone St.

Looking for places to go, and where to grab food & drinks. Want to give him an authentic NOLA experience.

Thanks in advance!

While I've never lived in N.O., the Chartreshouse is one of my favorites.

Cochon is my favorite to eat. Domenica in the Hotel is excellent. Those are two places off the top of my head

if you have to ask, you shouldn't be the one recommending him anything

Well, right in his hotel, he should go to happy hour at Domenica for food and drinks, and he should definitely get a sazerac at the Sazerac Bar.

Send him to Frenchmen Street at night - tell him to go to DBA, Three Muses, Cafe Negril, and/or Snug Harbor. That's where the music is. Avoid Bourbon Street unless its for a friday lunch Galatoire's or to go to Lafitte's.

Too many damn good restaurants to name, just avoid anything touristy like Mother's or Bubba Gump. If he wants to grab good cocktails, send him to Arnaud's French 75 for the best in the city, or Bar Tonique on the edge of the quarter. Carousel Bar is popular but the drinks aren't that good, IMO.

Also, tell him to go to the WWII museum during the day.

Tell him to have dinner at La Boca and Sylvain. The Sazerac bar in his hotel is worth a stop in. Dominica is the hotel restaurant and is really good as well.

Domenica. Sazerac Bar.

Two great places just in that hotel.

Others recommending Sylvain as another great option.

Go to the FDB instead for more.

Like someone said, head to Baton Rouge.

They have one of the best Applebees in the nation. Their Bourbon Street Steak is 5 star

Place where you will see no tourists and where the locals go:

Acme Oyster House
Mother's
Bubba Gump Shrimp Company
Café Du Monde
Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville
