The girlfriend and I are going to Memphis next weekend. We are probably going to stop in Oxford for dinner on the way. We are staying in Memphis on Friday and Saturday night, but still trying to decide where to stay on the way back Sunday night. Currently, I am thinking of spending the night in Clarksdale and stopping in Vicksburg and Natchez on the way back on Monday.
Any suggestions on places to stop to eat or things to do?

The Grande Hotel in Natchez is nice with a great river view. Magnolia Grille is a nice dinner spot.

Stay at the shack up inn in clarksdale. Ground zero blues club and blues museum are cool.
Memphis. My favs for ribs are BBQ shop and central.
Go find poor monkey lounge in the delta. Nothing like it.

Lunch at Walnut Hill's round table in V'burg would be a treat.

Stop by the Old Country Store in Lorman (just north of Natchez).

Gus's chicken in Memphis is a must...

You mean Po' Monkeys? It's in Merigold, MS. Thursday nights used to be amateur stripper night, go see as many black titties as you want

By far the nicest place on that route is the Alluvian Hotel in Greenwood. Couple of good restaurants there too - Lusco's and Giardina's.
If you go down I-55 instead of Highway 61, there are some good restaurants in Jackson - you can search this board for the recommendations.

Yeah alluvian is pretty cool. Gardenia's is the restaurant there that's pretty solid. Outside of that there's not much to greenwood.
Check out some of the plantation hotels in Natchez such as Monmouth and dunleath.
I don't know of much to do in Vicksburg other than gamble

Beautiful rooms. Nice Restaurant.
However - make it a trip to remember.
Kibbie in Clarksdale, MS a few blocks from ground zero blues.
Kibbie
Mississippi Tamale Trail - none better than these joints. Take your pick.
There is a map
Doe's Eat Place Greenville, MS - if you don't know, there is no hope for you. An evening to remember = Steak and Doe's Eat Place tamales
The #1 Location - all others are an attempt to come close and they fail.
I'll add more as my mind starts working.
McCarty Pottery in Marigold, MS on 61 Highway - Their Gallery Restaurant is worthy for lunch.
Link
Drive 49 highway past Parchman Farm and see why you would like to stay out of the Mississippi Prison system then go to Indianola, MS and have pizza at Lost Pizza Co.
One also in Cleveland, but I have not been there
Stop at intersection of H49 and H61 to have your picture made where Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil for blues immortality.

The tamales at Airport Grocery on the north end of Cleveland are worth a stop.

My problem with making a recommendation is I know five or six places. Some with legitimate cat meat and everyone knows it ain't a real tamale without a little cat mixed in.

Thanks.
It should be a fun trip
I think we are going to eat at Snackbar in Oxford on the way up. Menu looks pretty good!

Hope it didn't sound like I was complaining.
I have eaten stranger meat than cat. And I knew what it was when I placed it in my mouth.
I am certain I have eaten cat, too.

In Memphis, check out AM Italian Kitchen, Hog and Hominy, and Restaurant Iris. On way back Lusc+'s is pretty awesome and put in your map for either ride up or down, The Biscuit Pit in Grenada.
Ubon's BBQ in Yazoo if you go the long way
