There was a 65k(?) offer for United out there.

Yeah, 40k in the first three months for 3k spend and then another 25k if you spend 10k in the first 6 months.

Don’t want that big of a commitment.

I haven’t seen the Amex offer

Do you have a United account? I've gotten my bigger bonuses after logging into it. Check there.

Do you have the old ihg card or the new premier one? I wouldn’t cancel the old one since you get a free night for 50 dollars a year

That feature goes away after this year.

Well, not totally. Gets restricted to categories 1-4 which probably makes it a cancel for me.

Pretty sure you still get a free night but there is just a points cap to it

Used to be a big holiday inn fan but it seems like the quality is getting worst. So that’s the reason for the switch. We would use our Venture card for flights and Hilton card for hotel.

Amex Gold has a 50k offer

Just found the gold offer... 50k for 2k in spending within 3 months, plus 100 airline credit, and $10 a month towards certain dining locations. $250 annual fee

Plat has the 65k for 5k in spend, plus 200 airline, $15/mo UBER credits, $100 credit at Saks, and other small benefits... but the annual fee is also $550 now. One thing I was concerned about was a second welcome offer on the plat card, but in reading the language on the pre-approved note on their website, it mentions nothing about only being eligible for a welcome bonus on the platinum cards once.

For a churn and burn, I'm thinking the Gold may be a good deal... Although I already have CSR and have been burning up the 50% bonus on travel booking. May be more beneficial to go for a UR card

ETA: Just remembered that Amex does its bonuses such as airfare credit and the likes off of calendar year and not signup date. So in reality, that's 400 in airfare credit, 400 in Uber credit, $150 in Saks credit before the $550 comes up again.... Now I'm really tempted for Platinum again. Plus I've never done the centurion lounge, but could hit the ones in Hong Kong and San Fran on my trip in a little over a week... hmmm

I want to say Amex has a page that pops up that tells you if you'll be eligible for the bonus.

Get to that page and see if you are.

ETA: I was busy go-karting at the Formula 1 track today. Sorry.

I just got the Gold. I have the CSR. I considered the Plat but didn't get it yet. I may if I drop the CSR down to a CSP and probably would drop the Gold at that point.

What questions do you have?

My Amex home page has the message at the top offering me the plat with 60k... I opened and read the terms and no where in it does it say only one bonus.

Question for you Teddy is Plat Vs. gold?

The fee is almost a wash after the airline credits and the likes. It’s where the lounge access and 10k additional points on the play are worth it or not.

Already have CSR

Looking at platinum for the 60k points plus all the other goodies, especially taking an international trip at the end of this week. Trying to decide whether Platinum is worth it over the Gold.

You need to wait for the 100k signup offer for the amex platinum unless their is some reason preventing you from waiting.

Already got the 100k about 3yrs back and I know there is language about only receiving one welcome bonus in a lifetime.

With the 60k offer in my inbox, there is no language anywhere in the offer/agreement stating once in a life time.

Trying to decide whether to shite or get off the pot.

I’m doing one or the other, Plat or Gold, just tying to decide if Plat is worth it.

ETA: especially with my trip to Hong Kong and them having a Centurion lounge there and also in SF where my return flight is through.

Was considering calling in and doing over the phone and asking that question.

I mean, I’ve got the agreement saved and it says nothing in there about it...

Update: Called and spoke to rep. She couldn’t see either of the two targeted offers on her end. Said they are online only. She did read me verbiage off of standard Platinum application which excludes bonus for people who have had card and this agreement isn’t the same. She said it could be specifically targeted for people that had it previously and they want them back, so willing to give the offer. Without seeing it herself, she couldn’t guarantee.

Think I’ll just go with Gold at this time, since I do have the CSR and getting the 5k spend right now would be pushing it.

Applied for Arrival+ for my wife who had it some time ago. Didn't get it, waiting on reason.

Now I'm trying to figure my next target for her. Either go Amex or Citi. I can only get the 75k Plat offer to show though. Chase is totally out of the question

I saw that arrival+ 70k mile offer.. I've never had the card, but after reading about a possible 6/24 rule on reddit I am hesitant to apply.. I'm at 9/24 but just 1 in the last 12...
