For Amex blue cash preferred, I can just downgrade to the non AF version of the card, correct?

Getting ready to book a trip to disney through mydisneyexperience.com. I can't find any info if this would qualify as a travel purchase with my sapphire reserve, or if I should use my freedom unlimited instead. Anyone know?

Looks like a debatable topic.

You can call Chase and ask.

Flyertalk

There's another thread linked in that thread for more data points but calling Chase is probably faster.

I'll put well over 20k on CSP and they won't flinch.

I'm sure I'd have to put 100k on it to catch a second thought.

I knew it was unlikely, but I also knew I would be on and off the phone in less than five minutes, so it was worth a shot

So I’m currently evaluating my credit card situation.

I have CSR and RR, plus the Costco Visa which I primarily use for gas.

Wife has Amex blue everyday and CSP

I Like CSR but seems like I’m not really using it for much other than food and drink. I am thinking about consolidating to the new Amex gold for both of us and keeping the Costco visa For gas. Thoughts?

Can anyone give me some quick guidance on how to time my new SW credit cards for points for early in 2019. I’m going for a companion pass in 2019 (earn it in 2019 so that I can keep it in 2020). I plan on getting the 40,000 point bonus after spending $1,000 on a personal one and then getting 60,000 after spending $3,000 on a business one. I want to get the cards (or at least 1) this year for Christmas shopping but to get the bonus in 2020.

Let’s say I go for the business one. How long does it typically take to get approved and get the actual card? (Days, weeks, a month or two)?

Then when do you get the points? Let’s say I get the card in November and spend $3000 by December? So I get the points right when I pay? Do I get the points at the 3 month mark?

Thanks in advance!

Haven’t seen it posted yet, but Chase just changed their Sapphire sign up to no new cards within 48 months...

I am pissed at Chase right now. Their reps fricked me back in Sept when trying to sign back up for the Reserve card and now I am royally fricked with the new 48 month rule.

I’m waiting on a call back from a Manager. I was told I had to cancel my Sapphire Preferred before being able to get the Reserve and that isn’t the case, I could have converted to the Reserve and forgone the 50k signup. Really just wanted the 50% bonus on points and the 3xs on dining and travel.

I guess Amex Platinum will be in my future once again.

Ya they did that change some time ago.

My wife just completed her Chase cycle this year and has 7 cards open with them. I'm geared up to hit them in early 2019 and then I'll shift to Amex and others. 4 year cycles aren't worth waiting on.

Teddy, what are the hot cards right now...

Like the 60k with Amex Platinum, but 5k spends in 3 months is steep

Plat puts out a 100k offer so I'd probably wait for that if you can manage to get it.

Rumor is Barclays Arrival will have a 70k ($700) bonus soon. Right now it's pretty high at 60k ($600).

Citi Premier has a big 60k bonus right now.

Of course many Chase cards like Ink Preferred are out there.

I did get a 125k new Starwood offer in the mail, so if that interests you be on the lookout. Of course that's post merger.

So I’ve got about 180,000 accumulated on my CSR now, we fly United whenever we vacation. Should I go ahead and transfer these over to United as miles? It’s 1:1 right?

Just realized I cant get any Plat rewards since I got one previously... bummer

I did get off the phone earlier with Chase and they have re-issued my Reserve card after all of the bs they put me through. No sign up bonus, but they will be crediting me the annual fee.

Will likely look at hitting one of the cards you listed... Which of the ones you listed is best for flights or able to transfer to partners?

How long ago is "previously"? Data supports that lifetime limitation didn't really mean lifetime.

For partners, of the ones I mentioned, it would be Citi. But that works better with they're partners they share with other company points programs.

Arrival is going to get you $700 regardless if it's airfare, hotel, or whatever.

I think its been 3-4yrs now... But would hate to sign up only to find out later I was ineligible.

I’ll have to look at the CITI card, since I now won’t have a spend requirement on the CSR and they knocking down some of my annual for their frick up.

I wish there was something I could do with Southwest Points... I’ve got so many of them, there is no way I can travel that much.

I wouldn't do all of them. When you go to book a flight, check both websites. I have had flights where CUR was cheaper and flights where United miles were cheaper. Also, you are still eligible for upgrades if you use UR points.
