Like FSU, UCLA is soup du jour. L.A. is not a hard sell. However, I don't see Mora staying anywhere as long as Sarkisian, and USC is still the better "brand" and always will be.

My guess is Mora leaves for the NFL one day when Pete Carroll retires, L.A. gets a team, or the Cowboys job opens up.

But I would presume there is some sort of pressure to win now out there, and getting some NOLA players would help. But that's a long way to go and no one east of the Mississippi will be awake to see them play in a late start game out there.

As another said, LSU has to sell itself. If UCLA can get NOLA guys, then LSU should be able to land Cali guys.

UCLA is doing some work in Louisiana. Impressive

Looks like LSU feels there's a real chance he leaves the state. Why else is there so much attention to all these receivers all of a sudden? I mean I'm reading where LSU is looking at several new targets at WR. Got to be a reason beyond losing Noil.

that's how I'd read it. I did think it would be FSU though for a while.

247 reporting LSU has now offered Texas commit Emanual Porter and are seriously looking at:

George Rushing

I read about another WR in the last day or so but can't remember where or the name.

It would be a lot better for Dupre if he came to LSU for lots of reasons. Proximity to home, best football in the country, proven track record of getting WRs into the NFL, great young QBs to grow with, and NFL OC who knows how to get the ball into the hands of playmakers, one of the best football programs in the country. The list goes on and on.

UCLA? They have been mediocre to bad all of my life and Jim Mora, Jr. has always been an average coach with a good season here and there. Jimbo Fisher at FSU made his bones at LSU and plays in a weak conference for football.

If you want a challenge and want to develop your game and have the "chest," you go to LSU. If you want the easy route to mediocrity, you go elsewhere. That is how I see it. Not sure why that message is getting muddled.

sounds like you should avoid the recruiting board since that's exactly what it's here for

good post. and definitely LSU has the 'proximity to home' advantage. But at UCLA he will be coached by an NFL wide receiver coach, and catching passes from a Heisman Trophy
candidate QB in his first year. In his second year he will be
catching passes from the MVP of the 'Elite 11' quarterback
camp.

I don't get that. Having high hopes and being disappointed isn't the end of the world. Being all negative 'just in case' is pretty cowardly to me... But I guess that's why I stay away from the rant. Eff it. I hope they come to LSU.
you obviously don't fit in with the if-he-doesn't-want-us-then-we-don't-want-him scared lemmings on this board. neither do I.

LSU has Elite 11 QBs and Cam Cameron is better than anyone UCLA has on offense. Plus, he will be on an offense with the best RBs in the nation, meaning that he will be running a lot of routes into man coverage while defenses put 8 men in the box.

It is a recipe for a big WR like him to put up monster numbers and gain a lot of attention as a down field threat.

Sorry, but Dupre going to UCLA makes no logical sense at all. Unless LSU is going to keep losing 5 star players to the flavor of the month or whoever can lie the best about why they are better, this doesn't make any practical sense.

The only line that has made any sense this recruiting season was the one that CRob was fed about Alabama putting more OLinemen into the NFL than LSU does. Ok. Point taken. But, other than that, LSU is the better destination for WRs, RBs, DBs, and DLinemen than just about anywhere in the country.

As for LSU's future at QB, you have Anthony Jennings, Hayden Rettig, and Brandon Harris. LSU is going to play the best player there and there is loads of talent at the position. With Cameron in charge (tutor to Drew Brees, Joe Flacco, Philip Rivers, and others), we are going to be just fine at QB.

Unreal that Dupre would believe a line from UCLA or FSU over LSU.

Also, Mora, Jr. will be back in the NFL if he keeps having success at UCLA - sooner rather than later.

1. Why would Dupre go to visit UCLA THREE times ON HIS OWN DIME in 2013?

247 has him as having gone on Junior day and is going on Official
No other visits and they do unofficial ones.

Believe me, all these guys don't need a free trip to LA

Who needs a free trip to LA? Who wants a free trip to LA is a very different question.

You gotta ask yourself 1. how long can UCLA maintain this level of play (mediocre) Espcially once USc gets some scholarship relief.
2. How long will Mora be there?

It's no secret Malachi likes California. More importantly, his father wants him at LSU. This doesn't mean he will end up at LSU but i like his chances

I love lsu....got two degrees there but we have to understand that for these New Orleans kids Baton Rouge la is no big whoop...considered a step down in city status....I mean really....Los Angeles and one of the best schools in the country and going to lsu in Baton Rouge....the question answers itself...a kid from care carencro or ascension parish will go to big Baton Rouge but if you grew up in New Orleans then Baton Rouge can be pretty small potatoes.......

I don't think we're going to land him either. All the LSU lock stuff is complete bullshite. It's hard to put any trust on "insiders" anymore after getting burned like we did. I think the most telling issue behind his recruitment is LSU is starting to target several more WRs. That's usually indication they're not expecting to land or they're very nervous about doing so. More interestingly enough is the ones we are targeting seem to be fairly bigger WRs like Dupre. Which again, points to LSU not being confident in landing him.
