I keep hearing...but but, LSU had to fake an injury to stop Iowa.
It would be funny were it not so pathetic.
I just tell them that maybe if your defense had tackled Hill now and then...

If offenses want to go up tempo to try and create an advantage then defenses can go "down tempo" to even the odds for all I give a shite.

We've been doing it for years, first time it was obvious to me was the Oregon came. I don't know if we started this trend or not but we definitely have a well earned reputation for doing it. It's low class and against the rules. Running an uptempo offense isn't against the rules. It needs to be dealt with harshly by the NCAA.

If it is cheating or agaiNst the rules, how come there is no flag thrown? Because it is not. Just a strategy.

Adapt or die
Regardless, faking an injury didn't win LSU the game. Hill abusing their touted LB core is what did it

All players are told to get on the ground if they are injured so the medical staff can come to them to check them out. That's why you now see players go down a few seconds after the play ends. This is particularly true with cramps late in games. No point in trying to belly crawl to the sideline. Seems to be part of the new emphasis on safety. Who knows whether we fake injuries or not?
The only thing "low class" going on are the fans who boo them.
I remember the end of the Cap One Bowl in 2009 where we were driving for the winning FG. We ran a play up the middle, the clock was running. Our RB set the ball on the ground so we could hurry up to the next snap. A Penn State player comes out of nowhere and jumps on top of the ball. One of our players reacts and pulls the Penn State player off the ball drawing a personal foul penalty pushing us back 15 yards. Don't remember if we got the 50+ yard FG off or not. But we lost.
In the press conference after the game the Penn State player was asked if he was intentionally trying to delay the game. He smiled and laughed and said "My team won. That's all that matters."
It's a game. You do what you have to win. Just like the 2009 Cap One game this will be quickly forgotten and all people will know is LSU beat Iowa.

If you ain't cheating you ain't trying. If you get caught you ain't trying hard enough.
But seriously, it's chickenshit.

Classic tiger rant, let the roles be reversed and watch the million threads crying about whatever team is faking injuries against us

I was always taught in every team sport that if I was even slightly injured or thought I might be injured to lay on the ground to stop play. Even if it was a hand injury. Get on the ground.
This is nothing new.

Yes. I live in Houston and I can't walk out side to mail box or go get a donut at DD without some random A-hole walking up to me and saying LSU cheated. its ridiculous. its all everyone cares about.

i literally have heard not one word about the Outback Bowl since it ended. Wait, that was the bowl right?

That game is over. They're Iowa. It doesn't matter.

the simple fact is that this entire discussion assumes any of the injury stoppages in the iowa game were faked. unless one of them can be unequivocally proved as faked, who gives a shite about someone's whining? that anthony johnson grabbed one hamstring and then had the trainers work on the opposite leg isn't proof that anything was faked. maybe it was, but it isn't exactly rocket science to accept the fact that a 300+ lb. d-lineman could have cramps in both legs at the same time near the end of the game.
back up your accusation. if you don't, no one really should care the slightest about your opinion.
booing all injuries across the board is low class and shameful. iowa is the first game i can remember where that happened. sure, i've seen individual injuries booed, but i think every single one was booed by the hawkeye fans (albeit, not all hawkeye fans).

As a HUNH fan base you instantly lose credit when you boo injured players. For example, it's pretty obvious Lamin Barrow was actually injured and their fans booed the hell out of him. Watching the replay he flipped and was hit in the back of the head, how dare him get hurt!
