This game has all the makings of a team coming back later in the year and punching the favorite in the mouth.

Did you see our last game against Seattle? I'm thrilled we beat Philly and this Seattle game might be a little closer than the last one but we don't have a chance. But what the shite - I went to Philly and I'll be in Seattle.

Maybe their team all dies in a car wreck?

I feel like this is one of those sports cliches that's completely meaningless and quite silly.

Not that the Saints can't win or don't have a chance. Just hate that saying

. That's what I'm hoping for... The saints got punched and ran home to mommie the 1stgame...Hopefully this time the saints punch 1st and don't back down!.. We need to see the aggressiveness come out right from the start!...

Yea I just assumed he'd be playing next week since he was fixing to execute the training staff if they wouldn't let him play
Yeah, he was pissed. Pic after the game.

thanks for pimpin but it's notable history...

Of the last three SB champs they had to win 5 games to teams they had lost to in the regular season. Saints can make it another two. Beating a team that you lost to looks like a more probable than improbable path to the SB from the past 3 years.

You're going to need more statistical evidence than that to convince me such a silly concept is factual

eta: If two teams are pretty close in quality and the win probabilities are close to even (say 55/45), then of course there will be a good number of splits in those scenarios. That's hardly evidence that playing twice overcomes or minimizes any talent gap between two teams

As I agree it is hard to beat the same team twice, I do not think this applies in this situation due to the game being in Seattle. People said the same thing about the Eagles coming here twice in '06 and the result was literally exactly the same. However, when we start talking about the fact that both teams look a lot different at this point in the season. Seattle looked dominant 5 weeks ago when the Saints couldnt block, run, or tackle.

This is how I break down every matchup in my head, obviously(jets, rams) it doesnt always go down that wya but 75% of the time it works everytime:

1. QB- Saints
2. Running Game- Seattle has the better RB, but ARI went in and shut down Lynch.
3. Defense- Seattle. Having a healthy K. Lewis will be very important. However, I think Seattle has the better defensive pass rush.
4. Special teams- draw. possibly the best punter playing for the Saints and the best kicker playing for Seattle.

The Saints seem to have the upper hand going in because of having an under dog sticker on their backs, seeing the best defensive performance by Seattle already, and the Saints with the desire to not be embarrassed again in primetime.

I think this game will be one of the best if not the best of the playoffs and I have a better feeling about this game then I did about the Eagles.

All are great points. I have a better feeling about this game than I did when we played them in the regular season. I feel that winning in Philly is all we needed to get the monkey off their backs. Now its just a matter of playing loose and playing our brand of football

+10000000000000000. I've got a great feeling about next week. I think we'll go in there with a fire under our arse and leave with a W, especially if we can stay consistent.
