every year about 25% of coaching jobs in the NFL seem to pop open. that seems pretty unsustainable. cleveland and TB just had a caoching search where nobody would take the job. oakland has a mediocre guy right now but they have to keep him to stay out of that black hole. what the frick are the browns and bucs going to do? NOW there is going to be a supply of coaches to take these jobs?

I really don't get the browns firing, something has to be up

its sad, people always expect success, but there's 32 teams in the league with 12 playoff spots, even with a good record you could be left out. Sometimes its just not your time and it takes time to get your team to mesh.

example: cleveland never lets their team get used to each other, and get better.. they change shite up every... fricking... year

I think it says more about the current crop of NFL owners. Many of them have no idea what they are doing, or how to hire people who know what they're doing.

Its only getting worse.

We live in a 24 hour news cycle with idiotic fan bases and bloggers that have a huge voice now.

Just the way the world works now. No patience, overly reactionary.

It will continue.

All they are doing is setting their franchise back another 2-3 years by installing new defenses, and offensive plans. Unless they make the rare slam dunk hire, that is.

I think social media and the technology of communications increasingly advancing also plays a small role in the flirtations of other possibilities of new hires that increases their urge for a firing.

the only one that didn't make sense to me was the Browns decision.

as for GM's, I thought Dominik got the shaft.

Schiano was just a moron who couldn't win with a pretty talented roster IMO.

i'm happy the jets didn't fire rex ryan. he did about as well as a coach could with that roster

they went "all in" a few years ago and it didn't work. he's rebuilding now

i laughed at the hire, but with all of the injuries and josh freeman turmoil, he didn't do that bad of a job

he was 100% right about josh freeman and had to rely on a very inexperienced guy after

True.

they just had terrible misfortune with Carl Nicks.

I think he and Davin Joseph would be a helluva tandem at guard.

Doug Martin also went down this year, so did WR Mike Williams.

Its just really poor decisions by owners. They have no consistency and it makes it really difficult when you keep wanting to change.
