I don't think anybody in the thread suggested he might be - I don't think he's a "sure thing" based on what we know, but to say he's leaning LSU is an understatement.

I certainly didn't suggest he would be a surprise. Adoree Jackson would be a mild surprise - he seems to leaning more and more USCw - but I think we're more in it than some people think.

Malik McDowell would be a surprise.

Carter would be a surprise.

I stand by what I said.

a KO specialist who might develop into a long FG kicker at some point is a luxury.
I agree ....something must be up here with the numbers crunch ..

And I want to make it clear - I'm not derogating the kid - I hope the numbers are right, he makes it in the class, and kicks a bunch of touchbacks and 40+ yard field goals for us.

However, having said that, we need OL, DL, WR and DBs in significant numbers - and all of those needs are more pressing than the skill set that Mr. Gamble offers, talented though he might be.

I hope there are no surprises. LSU has more to lose than to gain with a surprise.

If we had more commitments, I might agree with you. However, I think Adoree, Malik or Lorenzo is going to be a pleasant surprise.

I think we lose a commitment along the way, just not sure who right now (and maybe Palelei was it and it happened early).

I think LSU would take 27 or 28 if the right recruits commit late. The numbers will work themselves out. Grey shirts and academics.

I just cannot see LSU turning down a MMcDowell, CThomas, AJackson, MDupre, TValentine, KYoung, or LCarter.

Bama fans claiming Carter sucks.

Perhaps I missed this earlier, but is Tony Brown also planning on making the announcement of his college choice at the All Star Game next week?

Also, obviously, we all hope that none of the LSU recruits or commitments is injured in either game.

Any chance one of the assumed "LSU commits" surprises the other way and commits to somewhere else?

I think that would more likely be the surprise. But really it is kind of expected. I would be surprised if we got less than 50% of the expected all star game commitments. 1 or 2 most likely don't commit or commit to someone else. But I would be ecstaticly surprised if we got all the all star commits that most people on here think are a given.
