Wouldn't surprise me, he is actually working on something with Saban now!

SC could recruit a top 10 class with me as Recruiting Coordinator.

Bob Stoops visited last year. Smart visited the Saints two years ago. It's called quality control. It doesn't mean someone is getting hired.

I don't understand the thinking here? If Stoops saw a glaring flaw in Saban's Offence, why would he tell him?

It could be beneficial to both coaches. A guy asks you to come check out his offense. You go, watch game film with the other coach, questions are flying back and forth. Everyone learns something. Why would you turn him down or lie to him.

I do think Kiffen gets a little bit too much hate in here.

Kiffin is asking Saban to hook him up with some references for the Texas gig.

Could it be possible that Lane Kiffin takes over as OC at Alabama?
Very risky for Bama.
Would be a home run for Kiffin to rebuild his image. He would have zero media access, elite players, an elite stage, and the opportunity to be mentored by a living legend. The absolute best case for Kiffin would be an opportunity to showcase his talent as a playcaller and recruiter, while also humbling himself before a control freak like Saban. It's quite possibly the only way he will ever get another shot at HC of a major program.

Is Layla part of the package?
Posted on 12/16/13 at 5:48 pm to Bench McElroy
I wouldn't mind if he took over playcalling duties. Nussmeier's playcalling drives me nuts. Bama could be averaging 10 yards per carry and completing less than 50% of their passes and Nussmeier will still refuse to run the ball more than 2x in a row.
shite, I'm agreeing with BM...

I'm right about a lot of things SoFla. I was right about McCarron being a much better QB than McElroy. I was right about the fact that Jim McElwain was a mediocre OC and was holding us back. I was right about the weaknesses of the defense (lack of a pass rush, lack of athleticism). People just hate the fact that I am very blunt telling the truth.

Spot on analysis, I would think Kiffen would be interested in rehabbing his image. What better place to do so?

The elephant in the room for him in any HC interview will be his complete failures with the Raiders and USC. He needs to be able to blame his youthful arrogance and say he was not prepared at that age to handle a task like working for Al Davis or leading a team crippled by heavy sanctions. Working for Saban for 5-6 years would give him the opportunity to prove his talent while also showing that he is willing to listen and learn from his past mistakes. Saban would give his resume more credibility than any other option he has.

Norm Chow was a ridiculously good OC at USC before he went to the Raiders. Kiffin was recruiting coordinator for their 3 straight #1 classes that got them put on probation

Hey dumbass...It's Monday and Saban hasn't made the announcement that he's going to Texas. What's going on???? I assume he's just running a little late?
