It's apparent the whole university has turned on him like he is a POS. He should resign and collect his money but he has earned the right to say he doesn't want to go yet

Are people coming out from under a rock tonight. They did can him old news.

They are letting him resign and not firing him. He's been given the opporunity to bow out gracefully but it seems like he's holding out as long as possible.

Texas completely screwed up this situation. It is their right to make a coaching change, however Mack deserves to be treated far better than they have treated him.

frick that. Mack needs to act like a man and accept the inevitable.

Mack hasn't been so hot lately but he did win a natty...if some SOB boosters were trying to show me the door in the way that this cluster frick has unfolded I'd probably show my arse too.

A much-used criticism of Texas on these boards was that they (we?) were happy to accept mediocrity, and have "settled" for Mack Brown.

Then, when Texas gets a chance to make its move to put its resources behind buying a winner, and playing the game to get him, and showing that Texas is serious about making money AND winning, then Texas is "bad."

Makes perfect sense.

Who knows what part MB has played in it turning out this way? You say this as if Texas never gave him the opportunity to bow out gracefully. Do you have the full story of both sides here?

My opinion on the matter aside (as it's admittedly biased,) they're starting to swing more and more sympathy over to Brown in the public eye. He gave 16 years of his life to the place, and they're trying to toss him out like old newspaper.

I understand but he wants 8 more wins to become the winningest coach at UT

He deserves it. For all Mack has done for UT he deserves to leave on his own terms.

UT fans won't appreciate what they have till it's gone
