We've dealt with life after Saban for some considerable time now. How well will bama deal? I'd imagine o.k. But, a NC within a few years of his departure?

I cant wait to see how their next coach does compared to Les at LSU.

Yes, indeed. Once this starts with Saban, it will only get worse. He has done this at every job he's had since Michigan State. I think part of his process is making fans eventually hate him so that he and Terry can easily move on to the next challenge.

I still respect the hell out of him as a coach/CEO. However, I would never want him back as HC at LSU.

Bama will be just fine with or without Nick Saban.

Even if he stays he won't be coaching for long. He needs to shite or get off the pot; Bama has a sugar bowl to win and a #1 recruiting class to sign.

That's one of the saving graces of Meyer. After his whole heart ordeal and uprooting his family to move back to Ohio, I don't see him being able to take another job unless he wants the Mrs to leave him.

You should have seen the Bama fans arguing against this in the Crimson Silence thread....holy shite.

No it's not, unless your metric of the job is who has the richest boosters.

Texas should be the number one job in college football, but several programs have much more success than UT (bama included in this group)

If were being honest, knowing what we know about him, I'm shocked he hasn't given the NFL another shot. To a perfectionist, his stint in Miami has to be nagging at the back of his mind. Its his one failure.

Of course, as a Saints Fan, I appreciate Nick tremendously for passing on Drew Brees. Hell, if Saban takes Brees, perhaps he doesn't quit.

Am I the only Bama fan that doesn't want Dabo?? He always loses in spectacular fashion, and he's not exactly at a recruiting disadvantage at Clemson.

Scoop, a lot of LSU fans felt the same way about Saban at LSU. He was rumored to be leaving his last three years at LSU. In some weird way, it was a relief to see that he was gone. However, having been on both sides of that track now, don't wish away a good thing over inconvenience. He is the best there ever was at his chosen profession.

If LSU was a sleeping giant pre Saban

Texas is a sleeping Universe.

GTFO

Texas with the right coach trumps Bama easily.

This may sound strange, but I really think Texas would have the potential to win a championship every single year under Saban. The schedule would set up so easily. All he'd ever have to prepare for would be OU and OSU, and sometimes Baylor I guess.

No way. He's not even close. Bryant has a higher career winning percentage despite coaching almost twice as many games. Saban has never won back to back conference titles. Again, how can a coach that can't even manage to win his own conference two years in a row be considered the GOAT? Saban has only one undefeated season. That's the same number as Mack Brown. Without a mulligan in 2011 and Ohio State serving a bowl ban in 2012, Saban would be sitting on one NC at Bama. He also needed a ton of luck to even get a place in the BCS National Championship game in 2003. Saban is a very good coach but he has too many holes in his resume to be considered the GOAT.

He'll either retire at Bama or decide to take one more shot at the NFL.

I'd put money on him retiring at Bama.

Anyone know if Saban has ever expressed interest in being an Athletic Director?
