I hear ya, I just need as big a target as possible. I can hit an 8" plate at 50 yards off hand pretty much every shot on a good day, but I have a feeling 20 yards would be a stretch on a deer

Bet you were surprised to see that bitch fold up

How many people here use their big arse revolvers for deer killin?

I really wasn't surprised. I just know I didn't want to track her. Like I said though. I was FIRED UP!

I want a .44 very badly for deer hunting. I love my .357 but I'd be willing to stretch it more with a .44

And I like having the loudest gun when me and my buddies go shoot.

A super redhawk .454 casul would be great.....

That was my first with a pistol. I was jacked the frick up to say the least.

As you should have been. ANY deer killled w/ a handgun using open sights is a trophy!

I was on a paid hunt in South Texas (high fence, no care) back in college and one of the other guests, a female (sorry no pics it was before I had a cell phone), took a decent sized Red Stag with a .44. I was impressed.

I've killed 5 deer w/ revolvers including one w/ cap and ball black powder revolver. Ranges 10-50 yds. Iron sight revolver hunting is every bit as exciting as bow hunting to me (I do both). Have used .45 colt, .475 linebaugh and Ruger old army

I have a .357 with a 4" barrel. Think it would be enough to take a deer provided I had the right ammo.

Damn, nice.

All I have is an old Colt in 44-40.

Does that count?

Blue is 95%...

...gone. (No, that's not a nickel finish )

The .460 will also shoot .454 Casul and .45 LC.

The 45 feels like a 22 out of that huge gun. The .454 feels like maybe a .38 special. But the .460 loads are fricking unbelievable. The concussion and pressure wave that comes from the explosion of powder is pretty intense.

The closest thing I've felt was the snub nosed 44 I used to have, minus the pressure.

My Super Blackhawk that I posted on p.1 is engraved with "Big Game Hunter". It's got two kills to it's name via my Dad's hands. I've never taken it hunting though, but I'd love to!

Ruger has temporarily discontinued the redhawk. It's pretty close between the regular redhawk and smith 629 classic for wheelgun I want the most
