Nobody's calling out Shea. He passes out info and gives an opinion. But he left out an important little tidbit, wouldn't you say?

The other guy still wasn't here. That part remains constant.

Posted by NorthEnd on 12/2 at 8:54 pm to Manswers You guys are over complicating a very simple situation. There's a bama booster in Monroe paying these guys. Everything else is lip service. They're following the money. Poke around, I've seen his name posted before although I can't remember it. Otherwise I'd post it up.
I was just thinking that the money finally hit the bank account so the decision was made.

I was calling out Shea because I think he is covering for the staff by basically saying there is nothing we could have done as Hootie wanted to play for Saban since 2010.
It's kind of tough to believe he really thinks that considering 24 hours ago he had Hootie as going to LSU.
The staff dropped the ball, just say it and move on. But don't try to tell all of us that it was inevitable when we all know it wasn't.

He was trending with Hootie to Bama for a few weeks before that, just wanted to wait and see with the Crystal Ball stuff. And after a kid commits, you learn a lot more about the entire process, not just from the recruit, but from the coaching staffs.
People forget that, or dont realize it, but the staff cant comment on the player recruitment. As far as WE all know, everything the recruit says is all we have to go on. But there are always two sides of a story, and a truth somewhere in the middle. Shea and others can speak to the staff off the record and find out how things went down on the other side.

I'm trying my best to be positive. Good luck to Hootie, but he is Tigerbait now. Let's try and put this in the past and have faith the staff can pull in Jamal Adams. Hopefully they can reel in another top flight Offensive tackle to soften the blow of losing CR too. I believe that Miles and staff work very hard and still do a great job recruiting, but it just hurts so damn much to keep losing these guys to the Gumps of all people!!! It would ease the pain if the load was spread amongst a couple of other teams, but the Gumps constantly doing it just tells me one thing, and one thing only... they are beating our staff in our own state. It doesn't make us bad, but it sure as hell makes us not as good as them, and I just can't accept that and move on. WE ARE LSU, AND WE DESERVE A DYNASTY LIKE BAMA AND NOTHING LESS!!!

IMO it wasn't the best business desicion. Just me but if someone like this gets hurt god forbid or anything beyond FB, the way people are..... It could mean a great job somewhere support he would get. Not me personally just saying, there are people that disown family for not supporting their team! Being how LSU is just as good as bama as for as getting guys ready for the next level or even better since we don't have the depth of talent they do. I mean we are close but at this time we just don't. They really are stacked! You would think it would cause trouble at some point or done of these guys would pass just to even things out or make their own way somewhere else to compete but what ever. I really could care less, we will finish with a great class this year and prob for the next two as well. Looks like we are hitting 2015 pretty hard already. Anyway good luck Hootie and you are now tigerbait bro!!

Seems like Jones doesn't want to be as hated as the Guy from West Monroe. I'm pretty proud that we haven't heard of our fans dogging Laurence out on Twitter or here. I know this pisses off the Gump Twitter Team. These trash bags lurk here and run to every recruit with anything said on here and the pay sites.
No telling what he'll hear Friday Night in Jefferson Parish, however.

He should be called TigerBait because that's what he is. Nothing more.

Hopefully, it's his last High School game in this State. If not, it would be nice if Karr skull drug them in the Dome.

This.
Also, recruits handle their recruitment in different ways. For all anyone knows, CRob, Sims, and Hootie could all be in on the most massive troll job of all time and all sign with LSU. Not saying that that happens. It would be wise to leave the door open for it, though. And I'm sure the staff has for at least two of the three.
There will be plenty of members of the 2014 class reppin the state with pride. There will be a plethora of glory to go around for as many as want to be a part of this amazing class, the classes that follow, this amazing school, and top notch program that truly prepares it's players for the next level. #NFLU

Honestly, I hope so. There would be nothing more disappointing than getting out worked in your own backyard.
I think going forward we will pay closer attention to nla, but I hope it's not to little to late. We can still land a great class but it does bother me that none of these big names have committed yet. It is really getting to the point that we need to start getting verbals from these kids to get the momentum rolling.

yeah, and you're here to give the Gumps ammo.

Yep. Agreed.
I said I'd give my .02 once he announced. And everything I say is based strictly on community info, that which has been gathered over the internet.
I believe Hootie Jones when he says Bama recruited him harder and wanted him more. I think if you off the record asked Coach Raymond, Coach Chavis, or CLM whether they could have Hootie Jones or Jamal Adams, they would take the latter.
Is it inconceivable that we had someone higher on our board? At what camps did Hootie blow people away? Where are all of his highlights this year? Don't get me wrong, he has the measurables to be a good D-1 talent. I just don't think he was our man.
Is it possible mom got that same feeling on her visit? I've been told Hootie Jones is a bright young man, maybe he picked up on this. I know he at one time was an LSU lean. What changed that? I think it's possible that we didn't have the same vision for Hootie that he had for himself.
Is he a true safety in our scheme? Or was he more of a Karnell Hatcher, Stefoin Francois, or maybe at best Harry Coleman?
Let's just suppose that Jamal Adams was higher on our board, and we became aware that with Hootie out of the picture and FL's decline, he was ours for the taking. Could the staff have cooled on his recruitment? I think this is a plausible scenario.
Now, some would say, why fly up there and make a last pitch like Miles did? Can you imagine the backlash if he didn't? As you can tell from the NELA posters on here, this is a sensitive subject, and LSU obviously doesn't need any bad PR with the area.
In other words, I think they let him go. Would have taken him with open arms, but didn't press, all the while having their sights set on Adams. Maybe it's just sour grapes, I know. But, it's just real strange the way things have played out recently with Jones and Adams.
I have other random thoughts on Saban and Monroe that I'll save for another time.

All Gumps are dead to us!!! Save all the bullshite business decision reasoning as if you are comparing LSU to NLU or something...When that Rayville Gump doesn't make it in the league it will be mighty tough finding love from the home state...belive that!!
