the game officials didn't believe it affected the return... so why should the NFL hit Tomlin with an unreasonable fine and loss of a draft pick?
even if Tomlin wasn't there #28 had him caught from behind

But I'll sum it up for you:
1. I already said a draft pick was too much
2. Whether he affected the play or not is irrelevant. The key thing here is that he tried to affect the play. Otherwise you're saying Tomlin could have ran on the field, tried to actually tackle a runner, but if he misses and the runner scores a TD, it's no big deal.

Maybe I'm ?the only one who believes it was actually on accident. Its very easy to be so into the game, that you dont realize you are inching farther and farther unto the field. He's supposes to have somebody on the sideline designated to keep players and coaches backed up. Because as time goes on in the game, without paying attention you have a tendency to inch forward.people saying he was laughing about it afterwards. Well that really doesnt mean much. Its possible he was laughing at his self for being an idiot and not have better field awareness. Nobody knows for sure whether or not he meant to do it. Except tomlin. You want to fine tomlin for a mistake, go right ahead. It tells him to be and other coaches whose gotten too far unto the field, but didnt get caught to be more careful. But taking away a draft pick is just freaking ridiculous.
(Puts honer glasses on)
Then again i freaking hate the stealers so steal all 7 draft picks for all i care

Give those pics to the Saints to make up for the Ricky Williams debacle.

Trust me, you're not.
I proposed suspending him for the rest of the season.

What did Tomlin say in his press conference after the game about what happened? Did he deny it was intentional?

Not many are believing that one. Why would he have his feet perfectly planted as close as he could to the field?

taking a pick away is fitting, imo.
they had to hammer him so no one does this in the future, and that would send the message. Imagine someone doing this, or even tackling what would be the game winning TD. And the TD wouldnt count. Luckily this didnt cost them the game. But they need find a punishment where it never happens again.

A source familiar with the league's thinking.

Wait, people actually believe that was an accident?
Good for the NFL. I would also suspend him on top of the fine + draft pick

There is actual evidence that he attempted to interfere with play on the field.
Sean Payton was banished for a season for much less.

The NFL's statement of "You're still guilty but we are going to do away with the suspensions" line was one of the most egregious things I've seen in sports, and I'm still at how the media didn't really keep that in the news cycle for a while, Goodell just got a pass for it. I know that part is irrelevant to this discussion but it still irks me.

A big fine no problem, but taking away a draft pick is just absurd.

Waterboard his arse. We'll get the answer.

He was clearly looking back at the play and over his shoulder in the replay. He wasn't staring at the scoreboard.
The pure ridiculousness of him trying to interfere is deserving of a huge fine and a draft pick. I mean I would be shocked to see that at a High School game, I have no fricking clue what Tomlin was thinking.
