I'd blame myself as a parent. Obviously the kid thinks he's expected to react like that according to what he's been taught in the home.

Depends on their age

When they advertise on TV that a family did not attend their daughter's wedding on a Saturday in Fall, you expect these incidents.

Next time an LSU fan talks about the game in religious terms, shut him down. For his sake. And his children.

I remember crying myself to sleep late on a Monday night after watching the 49ers [?] beat the Saints. Kids are kids; you can't expect them to act perfectly rationally. I wouldn't read too much into it.

the argument on the sec scoreboard is the fact that espn is gonna show this kid crying for 24 hours. not the fact that he cried.

I don't think that they should do this to a child that is that age.

The birth of a rantard is a sight to behold. Give him a STTDB in his face and a napkin.....

My son is four, he loves sports and we watch games all the time. Honestly at that age, he mirrors what dad does. My wife encourages us watching games together cause she knows I'll keep my emotions on check with him. For 6,7,8 year olds...the only way they know to let out their sadness is to cry. If I had a teenage son who cried or acted an arse over a sporting event..I'd beat his arse...but that's just me. While I love sports, my life and who I am isn't tied up in a win or loss

Didn't read any responses but as a mom of 3 my gut reaction is that EVERYONE gets a trophy these days and EVERYONE is a winner and kids just do NOT know how to lose.

Very good point!! I coached little league for many years and tried to change the "every kid gets a trophy" BS, but every year I got out voted by the asst coaches.....

I'll admit that in 2003 I cried when we won ... after watching a replay ... not while in the Dome. I was still in shock!!

I would let him cry. I cried a few times after LSU lost when I was a kid.

Young kids have no control over their emotion. He'll some adults don't. That kid looked like he's not even in middle school. You just have to explain it's just a game and it will make next years more fun. I think as some of the other posters have mentioned. All dads should make sure that putting so much into the out come of a game can ruin a great experience.

take him to a third-world country or some inner-city homeless shelter or hospice org. and give him a big cup of STFU.

Would show how much he cared about LSU - give him a hug and say we win the next time.

You people who don't have kids shouldn't make yourselves so easy to spot next time.

You don't "handle" your son for having genuine emotions that don't hurt anyone.

Basically tell him there will be another opportunity to win. In every contest there are winners and losers. That is what competition is about. You cannot win every time you compete.

Learn to control his emotions and live with the results. Put his 'big boy' pants on and move forward. That I would be with him cheering at the next game.
