when did Bama integrate? 67?

I thought it was after Sam Cunningham mashed them.
I don't believe that Bama was the first to integrate in the SEC.

I love that this thread was started based on a post on another message board, and that the first 3 pages of this thread was just desperate LSU fans having a therapy session trying to convince themselves Saban will go to Texas.

Texas sites were also the ones saying it was a done deal the Big 12 was done and the super conferences were going to rule college athletics.

Wrong, Bama had black players on the roster when the Sam 'Bam' Cunningham game happened in 1971.

They hadn't officially played yet;

It is an urban legend that got a life of its own.

LSU has the ability to get talent to compete with Saban at Bama. It would only take a marginally better coach than miles to utilize to beat him.

That game was in 1970, not 1971. Wilbur Jackson was the first Black player to sign a football scholarship at Alabama in 1970, but he played on the freshman team that year. In 1971, the year Alabama unveiled the wishbone, he played on the varsity team.

As much as I hate to agree as an LSU fan it seems to be the case in this thread.

The funny thing is that Saban at Texas may be even worse for LSU. Obviously we wouldn't play them yearly but the recruiting battles would be more frequent for sure. We could also probably forget getting kids from Texas. He'd have the facilities at Texas by far the best in the country in 2 years.

Disagree. There are so many players in Texas he can't get them all. He could sign the top 25 players in Texas, A&M could sign the next 25, and there would still be dozens of elite-level kids looking for a place to play. I'd rather not have to face him in the regular season every damn year.

I only made it to page 4, and yeah, my overwhelming conclusion. Not even going to bother reading the other 5 pages.

Good choice. It's not only the LSU fans either. The whole college football world is so afraid of that douchebag it's unbelievable.

AS OF RIGHT NOW to 100%! That's right. I said it! 100%. Things change but AT THIS MOMENT UNLESS THINGS CHANGE I am saying it is a 100% chance Nick Saban is the Head Coach at the University of Texas next season.
