I'm experiencing some knee pain when running, immediately below the kneecap.
Anyone else have this problem and a remedy?

Cut tendon to vagina
Seriously, I get it too. Stop running for a while and it usually goes away

this is why we can't have obamacare....bunch of dumbasses will need orthopedic surgery and handicap placards because they don't understand evolution.
hey genius, you ain't got talons or fangs, you haven't been meant to run for damn need 2 million years...all you people excercising and shite will only be a HUGE fricking burden....think for a sec, yes think...that's what you are meant to do.
due to showering daily, antibiotics and other medicine you will live to 90....you won't die at 65 like your grandpa....it has nothing to do with your fricking diet or exercise...don't believe that shite.
but now, Imma have to pay for all these superficial, body dysmorphic fricks who have No Knees, and even though they sai "no pain, no gain"...need fricking handicap placards.....look you got dang bitch....you liked extreme sports and sweat-effort....why do you need a handicap placard now?

Exercise in a pool. It's really a great workout. Our maid was also having pain while running, so we just put a heated pool in for her behind her house.

it may be that your hamstrings are tight which is a very common problem with runners. Stretch the hell out of your hammies after each run (not before because you can hurt yourself trying to stretch cold muscles).

In originating from your pelvis, spanning the length of your thighs, and inserting into your lower legs, your hamstrings directly affect two of the most important weight-bearing joints in your body - your hips and your knees.
quote:
If your hamstrings are tight as you go about your daily activities, they'll create a downward pull on your pelvis, which can lead to dysfunction of your hip, sacroiliac, and lumbar spinal joints. Around your knees, tight hamstrings can create dysfunction between your knee cap and your thigh bone (femur). Tight hamstrings can also put pressure on your patellar tendon (the tendon below your knee cap that your doctor taps to test your reflexes), which can lead to patellar tendonitis or "jumper's knee."

Sometimes I get knee pain when my shoes get old.

Ironically you have "runner's knee". Get a jumper's knee strap like in the picture the earlier post by 12pence.
Also, layoff for a week/decrease your mileage and pop a few Aleves for 3 or 4 days. Increase your mileage only 10% per week max.

might be your IT band. Buy a good foam roller and roll the shite out of your outer quads.

Having problems with one of my knees. Sharp pain on the outside of my right knee. I quit running for a week and changed to new shoes, but it didn't help.
Guess I'll wait another week and try one of those knee support bands.
