This seems to be the cause of the most frustration right now, so lets see who his supporters still are.

I defended him in the past because we didn't have talent, but with talent now we are still seeing the same bad offensive sets. I like the guy personally and think he's done a good job developing players, but his in game coaching has been atrocious.

I don't think he'll get canned during the season but if this play continues he'll definitely be on the hot seat after the year, and if Benson is really serious about winning now, I hope we see a change.

So where do you stand, sons?

and yeah, this thread might not be needed but I just wanted to see everyone's stance in this thread

The fricking 4 guard lineup was awful. I don't know how can you defend him after watching that abortion.

I'm not saying we pull a lakers and fire him this early in the season. There's still time for things to click. But I'm not gonna defend him anymore until I see some results.

The evidence shows he is a below average coach

That's really all that can be said about him

If you're satisfied with a sub-par product then you'll want him to stay here forever

If you believe this team could do a lot more with someone that knows what they're doing, you need to get this guy out of here

Yet another choke after building a big lead. It's like a broken record now.

I'm fed up with it to be honest. If this keeps up please give Karl a call.

Losing confidence in him. Too many talented players on the squad for us to be playing like this.

Well, you can't fire the guy after four games and a new roster. BUT, I'm off the Monty bandwagon and ready for a change at least by the All Star break if we're still blowing like we are now.

Firing him and bringing someone new in right now isn't going to save the season (see Lakers last year). If we have another bad year theres no way he's back next year. Hopefully Karl / Hollins will be available still.

I'm done. Before anybody comes and says that, "well he doesn't have Ryno" bullshite, let me say this. Plenty of other coaches go through periods where they don't have integral parts of their team and somehow manage to not look fricking horrid. When we're in trouble, he looks fricking lost, just sitting on the bench rubbing his face like a moron. I'm tired of watching him let our team piss away leads instead of calling a timeout to zap the momentum of the other team. I'm tired of always being late on correcting lineups that just aren't operating together. His biggest problem is his inability to have a feel for the game, the writing can be on the wall for five minutes and Monty doesn't realize until we've gone from up 12 to down 4.

Sorry for the rant, but Monty has worn out his welcome with me. I'm just tired of watching the same shite show from our coach.

I think eventually, Team Benson is going to make a move to shake things up .. Too much invested in this being a decent season .. I don't think Monty's the guy ..

A couple of things first:

The myth of Monty's 3rd quarter ineptitude has gone off the rails. Look up the scoring numbers every season he's been here. The team has been about even, not collapsing every game. And the offense was league average last year- Monty can coach up offense.

As for tonight, the Suns got hot and Jrue/Evans just killed the offense.

Obviously some of those problems come down to coaching. Monty has much to prove, but people took the preseason too seriously. This team needs time to figure it out.

My 2¢: He needs to play Morrow more and go small more often until Anderson gets back. Steimsma looked good, but just has nothing on offense. But as it stands, he cant change the fact that Evans cant finish right now or that Jrue is a liability with the ball.

And they need to figure out how they want to cover PnR. Some of it is playing guys out of position, but still lots of blown coverages giving up corner 3s and layups. Monty must clean that shite up or he wont last long.

I only got to watch the last 6 minutes but the end of the game looked pretty poorly managed. I'm fine with the small ball, but why were they in desperation 3 mode nearly the entire time I was watching?
