I didn't love the movie but I love the ending of Shutter Island.

Heat was perhaps one of the most unsatisfying ends to a movie I've ever seen

More importantly, De Niro's character would not have risked everything just to track down that POS Wayne Gros. He would have eventually got to him, but not at the risk of getting caught. For a guy that was super calculated the entire movie, that was the worst part of the Heat ending.

i actually disagree with this and like that deniro went back. it showed that he was "human" and had emotions and was capable of making an irrational decision. deniro's crew was his family(they all take out their wives together for dinner), and half of them were dead, thanks in part to wayne gro. this to me was not the problem with the ending.

i 100% agree with the other poster who said that pacino's hunch was lame.

the prestige has my vote for best ending.

Most underrated has to be...

Unbreakable. What a sad, twisted, yet in a weird way.....happy ending.

great call on unbreakable.

after 2nd thought, sixth sense has a better ending than the prestige. i just enjoyed prestige as a whole more.

Yea. Sixth Sense ending sticks around with you longer. However, The Prestige is a better film.

Back to Unbreakable...

Its like a punch in the gut, you see the horror in it, then you the sadness in it, then "the smile" kind of makes you see the happiness in it.

You originally thought it was going to be this "Team Up" meeting and it goes another direction...

Not flashy, but definitely among the best, if not the best ending to any movie I've seen.
