Les is one of the few coaches that tells his team that certain games are bigger than others. People wonder why we come out flat to NWST, Towson, Furman, etc. The team takes on the personality of their head coach. There is reason Saban's teams play like machines. He will still lose it even up 40 points if a player isn't executing. Miles comments about our first half dumpster fire "back end looked like it should." It is just a difference in approach.

LSU was in the red zone three times. One was after and INT put the O there and a second time was when they started 5 yards outside of the red zone in OT.
The reality is that both Defenses were dominant that day. LSU had 3 scoring opportunities and made all 3 FGs. Bama had 6 scoring opportunities and went 2-6 on FGs (LSU did block one, but before someone says they were outside of the kicker's range, he has made several from longer than those misses).

Yeah, I know, but LSU's defensive back returned the INT. 30+ yards to put LSU in the red zone. LSU made plays and capitalized. Just like in OT, LSU didn't even let Bama get into the red zone (even though they were just five yards away). LSU pushed them back 10 yards making them attempt a 52-yarder while LSU's offense drove inside the 10 for an easy FG. No doubt both defenses were awesome. LSU was the more complete team that day. LSU had a punter pinning Bama (even hit a 73-yarder), a FG kicker that didn't miss, an offense that ran the ball successfully when it needed to the most and a D that got stronger as the game went on.

The game on 1/9 was not a survival game. Bama proved to be the better team that night.

I don't think there has ever been any confusion about this.

Bama was, in my opinion, the better team that year, and LSU may have lost them both, but the BCS would have been much more competitive.

That is the biggest load of crap ever and is just an excuse. . LSU was as good as bama in 2011. The talent on the 2011 team was as good as we have ever had at LSU. Heisa

Either way, what's that say about the coaching job in 2011?

JL made a great play to seal the game, but don't act like Jefferson didn't lead that comeback

At least that one time was for an unimportant game that did not mean anything.

It's a staple for people who think they are part of the ultimate solutions for LSU's football program.

When in reality, they're what's wrong with LSU's football program.
