Stolen from MSB

quote:

Flynn's demotion is a strong statement by Allen. Oakland's front office gave up a draft pick and more than $6 million to acquire Flynn this offseason, and the coaching staff values him less than an undrafted rookie. Allen believes Flynn isn't even good enough to be a backup. General manager Reggie McKenzie also drafted Tyler Wilson in the fourth round. Wilson was released, and now resides on the practice squad.

"It is what it is. It didn't work out," Allen told reporters about Flynn's demotion.

If this was say the Patriots or the Steelers I would be concerned. But I just don't give much weight to the Raiders' opinions. They have been one of the worst franchises in football for at least the last ten years.

Jacksonville would probably love to have Flynn right now.

This just seems strange considering he worked his way up the depth chart, and had a couple of solid performances at Green Bay.

I wonder if his injury is more serious than the reports seem to indicate.

I didn't read the story, so I'm curious: did he also demote the offensive line to 3rd string?

frick it opt out go back to Green Bay. Oakland is a shite team to try and make it. Well, I mean demand a trade first if he is intent on keeping that contract.

Pretty fricking harsh for one game where he played well in spots.. I agree he doesnt fit in their current system mainly because he needs to be able to run for his life while throwing to below average receivers with a running back who cant stay healthy longer than 2 quarter stretches.

Isn't Flynn in the Green Bay record book for top performance in a game, ever? The only one he started?

It's obvious. Dennis Allen hates LSU

I don't see Flynn not having a good work ethic (studying defenses, training, practice preparation etc).

Flynn is in a no-win situation.

Seahawks wanted mobility, so they turned to Russell Wilson over Flynn. Not his fault; he sits in the pocket and throws darts.

Oakland is wanting the same thing that Seattle got and preferred Prior.

I agree with an earlier poster; Jacksonville and/or Saint Louis would take Flynn in a heart beat.

He's clearly got talent, he just hasn't gotten the opportunity yet.

The Oakland Raiders are the poster child for fatally dysfunctional business organizations.

Can someone who watched the Raiders v. Broncos game explain to me. Looking at the box score 22/34 246yards 64.75% 1 TD and 1 pick. Those obviously aren't good numbers but they aren't absolutely horrible

Its fricking ridiculous that the coaches are blaming him for this. The Oakland Raiders are one sorry organization.

So as somebody that actually watched the game, this is what I saw;

Flynn looked really bad at times, and I know this has been thrown out alot but he has got no help from his depleted o-line (that was already one of the worst I've seen in my entire life) and no help from quality running backs (Both DMac and the backup RB are injured and did not play the game.

All the defensive ends needed to do to the online is press their man back to bend the pocket. There were no finese moves used by any dlinemen in the game, just pure power. The Flynn oline couldn't take it. When the pocket collapses Flynn is literally surrounded with no where to go and getting sacked. Pryor, or any mobile QB, is the answer to this or even going to a shotgun formation to help the QB, but that didn't happen for Flynn . Many times, Flynn had to get the ball out in less than 2 seconds. If anyone watched the preseason game vs. the Saints it was a carbon copy gameplan defensively against the Oakland oline and Flynn.

That said, Flynn made some throws that Pryor could only dream about. And for Dennis Allen to put the loss solely on Flynn is pussy when there are glaring mistakes all over the place on that "team".

If I was Flynn, I'd be socking away every penny of that $6mm, and prepare to live a life of leisure for the next 50-60 years.
