Didn't seem sad at all to me. Actually, it was a pretty good way to wrap it up I think.

Thought it ended well. And the transition into the first episode was well done.

That Inceptionesque episode was great. It was no Jurassic Bark but it is one of the better episodes.

The ending to this series finale reminded me of the final strip of Calvin and Hobbes. The "Let's Go Exploring" angle allows us to have comfort that the characters may still exist in their world and may still have crazy adventures, but we (the viewer) will not be privy to the happenings. I like it, mostly because the endpoint does not necessarily mean the end.

has any cartoon ever had as many touching moments? jurassic bark, the luck of the fryish, the sting....

and what ive always considered the saddest line of the series in Parasites Lost
Leela: Fry, I love what youve become
Fry (dejected): What I've become

I thought the end of the episode was the beginning of the pilot for a bit

I also think people forget about the one where Bender got launched into space and was God for a bit. The conversation he has with the other god-like entity towards the end of the show was probably the most thought provoking moment of any cartoon I've ever seen. That episode, along with Luck of the Fryish and Jurassic Bark always get to me.
