You have and will get some good recommendations, but let me just go ahead and recommend that you NOT stay in any hotels near the stadium. Knife wounds, gunshot wounds, loss of wallet, and/or loss of vehicle would not be good for your look.
Personally, I think we need a thread on where to stay in L.A./Pasadena in early January.

Downtown Hilton of the Americas is by far the nicest big box hotel, but it looks like no availabilty for a Fri-Sun stay.

I suggest the Westin on the west side of town off of Gessner. It is a little ways from the stadium but they have really made the west side the area to be with City Centre restaurants and bars.

Four Seasons and take the train to/from the stadium.

There's a crown plaza right by reliant. Or you can stay downtown and take metro rail straight to reliant. Those is where I would suggest.

Just booked at the Four Seasons and the Embassy Suites Downtown. Both within a block of each other.

Downtown hotels are great and you can take the light-rail right down to Reliant!

Zaza. Great location and the hotel itself is awesome. Plus they have a free "shuttle" service in these:

My best friend lives 2 blocks from the Rose Bowl. I'm all in.
