2 avocados mashed up good with salt, pepper, cayenne, cumin to taste. Tablespoon or so of lime juice. Then fold in a bit of diced tomato and onion.
I have heard of people adding cottage cheese of all things to make it creamier. Anyone tried that?

most the time just mash some avocados and add salsa to taste. regular guac never has enough kick for me.

Never thought of adding cilantro. That would be nice.

I saw two glaring non-invitee ingredients in the OP...cilantro and garlic.

Most of the time I just buy whole foods or HEB guac. But when I make it I use a wholly guacamole package and hot rotel.

I normally just loosely mash the avocados and add salt. Maybe a squeeze of lime. And I like it a bit chunky.

Some people add sour cream or, apparently, cottage cheese. I hate the idea of either. No need to add dairy or to make it creamier.
I made some the other evening with cilantro, garlic, diced tomato, onion, salt, pepper, a little chili powder, cumin and lime juice. And after thinking about it, I should have used the purple onion rather than yellow.
I think I need to play around with the seasoning more.
The guacamole at Casa Borrega on OCH (discovered it last week) was interesting. It used a higher proportion of other "vegetables" to the avocado, and the lime juice (and maybe something else) was almost like a dressing.

I put garlic in everything, probably why I enjoyed "The Stinking Rose" in San Fran so much. Hell Garlic is even good in ice cream I found out there.

Yep. I didn't post garlic, but it belongs.

I so very much wish that HEB would invade La. it would hurt some people in a serious fashion in no time at all. It was a "hi-tech" grocer" 35 odd years ago when I was in the AF in San Antonio.

It doesn't need to be creamier. That sounds awful
I like it a little on the chunky side. Avocado, white onion, lime juice, cilantro and salt. Sometimes I'll add some of the lime zest. Garlic powder can be a nice touch also, just use it sparingly.
Not a fan of putting tomatoes in mine but some people like that.

This entire thread is full of people bastardizing the shite out of something so simple
Sour cream, cottage cheese? frick it, just take it to the extreme and use mayo
Or maybe just give up on learning how to cook and drive to taco bell. Promptly jump off of a bridge after so I never have to read your posts again.
