The more i go out, the less stuff i bring/want to bring. I'm basically down to this.

-2 rods (sometimes bring a fly rod broken down but i have never taken it out)
-2 small tackle boxes with 2 of each things i use. I basically feel if i lose 8+ rigs i should just call it quits.
-gallon thermos of ice water.
- smaller ice chest with beer. the goal is to fill the ice chest with fish as the beer runs out. Im looking to go to a bag. Any sugestions?
-pliers
-knife
-cast net and bucket (sometimes)
-lifevest
-firstaid kit

I was about to post a similar topic with the question of organizing baits in a yak.

I bring-

2 rods at the moment (1 7'3 H and 1 6'6 MH)

Milk Crate with 3 trays (1-terminal, 1-blade baits, 1-hard baits, frogs). Binder with soft plastics. Collapsable net, Rope, Bug spray/sunscreen. Scissors and pliers.

And Polar Pop.

ETA: Pelican drybox - probably the best and most comforting thing I have bought.

3 rods. Usually just use two and the third is always rigged for heavy bottom fishing.

Usually 2 tackle boxes and a few loose baits or rigs in bags

Water bottle

Ice chest for fish with some extra water

Hemostats (best hook removal device there is)

Pocket knife

Pfd stored somewhere. I never wear it.

Something to eat.

Small dry box for phone, keys,
etc.

Fish gripper, worth it's weight in gold in the yak

Net. The one time I left it I really needed it.

Sunscreen

-4 rods
-milk crate with 4 tackle trays
-multi tool
-knife
-catfish flipper
-lip grabber
-folding net
-CI thermal bag with ice
The following gets stowed away in the front hatch
-cast net
-life vest
-small soft ice chest with water/Gatorade and ready made tuna packs
-dry bag with towel, rain jacket, flashlight

I've not been sold on the milk crate. 98% of the tackle in there gets unused. I might switch to a soft sided tackle bag to save space. It does hold my two other rods though but I can probably get away with three rods.

I stay out there all day usually and bring a lot of shite, but a KC has space for it.

- 3 rods (topwater, jighead and plastic for sight casting/bottom fishin, and poppin cork)
- full sized fish cooler
- 12 pack sized igloo for beer and food
- backpack with camera, rain jacket, pliers, phone, tobacco, etc, whatever
- big tackle box that goes under seat
- stick anchor

If I decide to put on the trolling motor, I'll have somebody else take the fish box or I'll grab a bag (we found one that fits perfect in the front of a KC but the name escapes me)

Oh I forgot the stakeout pole! My other favorite peice.

I have the 6 ft YakAttack Park N Pole, stake out/push pole.

You can make an equally good one for cheap though.

Yeah I've been using a peice if PVC that was in the back of my truck. Could probably stand to upgrade that.

How do you throw a cast net from a kayak? Just curious.

I always bring to much but I hate not having something if I need it.

I always bring multiple options for stopping depending on the conditions:

anchor or drag chain
drift sock or drag chain
small stakes for banks
bungees of connnecting to pilings, etc
limbclaw for tying up to tree limbs

Always, always, always bring a large serated knife - you never know when you need to cut one of your ropes in an emergency during strong current etc.
