Palps to return in Ep 7
most likely as a sith force ghost...he may have had a secret apprentice before he died

I have no idea if I will enjoy the actual movie when it comes out, but I do enjoy JJ's trolling of the audience prior to a film's release.

Latino Review also had an article yesterday about Obi Wan possibly returning.

I'm far more interested in the time frame of the new movies. They seem obsessed (or at least the rumors are) with bringing cameos of the old cast from the original trilogy. There are limitless stories they could explore that could be amazing but they just seem stuck on trying to bring back people for nostalgia.
I would much rather them take a new direction and make the new one pretty dark. Start out on a planet we haven't seen on film (turns out to be Korriban) and essentially show 1 surviving Sith training obsessively from holocrons. Just show some of the trials he has to overcome to survive and train on the planet.
Then on the flipside, show the Jedi order being restored to glory.

Spot on. Replace JJ with the WB and this is true for Batman casting rumors as well.
Orlando Bloom... el oh el

I will be incredibly pissed if this happens. They should distance themselves from the Sith as much as possible.

And that gives me a bad feeling. The only characters from the original trilogy that should return are Luke, R2, and 3PO. That's it, and Luke is just there really to pass on the torch and be support. Han, Leia, and the Emperor should have little to no part in it. No one wants to see an old Han Solo and a fat bloated Leia.

While Star Wars is much bigger than just Jedi versus the Sith, that battle between "good and evil" is the core of Star Wars. It is even at the core of most of the comics too. Not sure that you could have Star Wars without Sith.

I don't have a problem with Emperor being in it as a force ghost since it has been established.

I would welcome this and it would be very interesting as to how it works. I remember in some of the books Exar Kun's ghost was much more badass then any of the Jedi ghosts we saw in the films.

Neither have I. I just think there is more potential to the Star Wars universe than simply "Jedi vs Sith".

We need a Star Wars and Batman rumor thread

That Star Trek series should bother you if it doesn't already. Hackneyed time travel followed by the random regurgitation of the original plot lines? And they jerked themselves off for being so clever, ergo, that's the best they got. Good luck. I could think of a much better story than these people are going to come up with.

That's like saying a superhero movie should be more than hero vs. villain, you know that right?
