Bingo. Yes he would. He won a bunch of games in a baby conference. First chance he gets in the Big 12 they go 7-6. Wow what a genius coach!!

Spare me the soapbox about who they lost last season. We kicked a game changing heisman candidate off the team 2 weeks before the season, had an All-American tackle get hurt, starting running back tear his ACL, a starting guard go AWOL, 2 potential starting linebackers ruled acedemically ineligble, and Leslie managed to go 10-2 in the SEC.

We are going to crush this clown.

Is there a limit on the number of times you can say boom to the same statement.

I think Hill will be suspended 2-3 games. And inthink miles knows exactly what he is doing. Getting players opinions is the right thing. If they Wouldn't want him and miles let him back on it could screw up chemistry. And I think he is doing the eight thing by not announcing the suspension. You want hill to come to practice work hard on regaining his starting position. By not announcing hill will for sure bust his arse to get the job back and prepare. But if he would have announced the 2-3 games there was a chance the player could loaf since he would know he won't play. Not saying hill would loaf but as a coach you want to make sure he will come back and bust his arse for the next 6 weeks

What to take from this thread:

Gary Patterson and an embarrassingly large amount of people in the LSU fan base are gigantic pussies

I really hope miles doesn't suspend Hill.

If he does, he'll look like he caved into public pressure.

Coach Pwasn't making a statement about anything other than responding to the exact question that was asked of him. I feel like the only person on either side of this that doesn't see this as Coach P slamming LM. He was asked if he'd put Devonte's suspension up to a team vote much like LM did in regards to reinstating Hill. He responded honestly.

It's also important to note that these two situations are really apples and oranges. Hill was dismissed from the team and then the team took a vote whether or not to reinstate him. Devonte was never dismissed. He violated university policy (rather, as I've posted elsewhere, he and his roommate got busted a/ alcohol in their dorm, and he's paying the price for it), so this suspension was handed down via the university. He's currently going through the appeals process, so if he were to get the suspension lifted, that's a university decision, not a team/coach one.

Feel free to buy into the spin that ESPiN etc. is putting on this, but it's really a non story. I'm all for buying into hype and stuff to add motivation for a game, but the media pundits have blown this way out of proportion.

Patterson is twice the coach Miles is. LSU is just a much better program to coach at.

The fact is Miles can recruit a ton of top athletes at LSU. There is no single player that is more important than discipline.

Saban doesnt have any problems kicking guys off his team-and it doesnt seem to hurt him on the field too much.

Miles is in the best position to discipline a player. he knows them better than a fan, but the team will vote for the player every time.

Miles knows that. He should just have made the decision himself. I think it may have been better for Hill-and ultimately for LSU, to make Hill sit for a year and earn his way back onto the field.

With the talent this state has at rb, LSU should always have a stable of rbs. I think hilliard is better anyway.

I'm not sure who said it but someone said the other day that there are no fans out there as self righteous as lsu fans.

I agree with that.

If miles caters to this pathetic group of fans which include idiots like league champs then I would lose some respect for him.

Absent the spin, speculation and hyperbole it's really pretty simple.

Les Miles wants to win so he wants Hill to play.

Gary Patterson wants to win so he doesn't want Hill to play.
