Why should the non-athletic component of the LSU administration have any say in Hill's situation? It's clearly outside of their province.
how the heck is it "outside their province?" J.Hill and all LSU athletes are ambassadors for LSU whether they like it or not. I'm thinking <=2 games, fwiw.

Miles forged a bunch of Manziel autographs to distract the media while he reinstates JH33. Diabolical

If true I'd figured this would happen. People saying he'd miss 2 or 3 games are ridiculous

you realize these two are not mutually exclusive, right? Hill could rejoin the team tonight and still be suspended for some games.

Are you asking why the LSU administration should have any say in something related to the administration of LSU?

The Athletic Department may be a separate financial entity, but it still operates within the University. Everyone in the AD is employed at the discretion of the University.

Couldn't he technically be reinstated to the team and still suspended for a game or games? It isn't like they kicked Mathieu, Ware, and who ever else off the team for the Auburn game a couple years ago.

Hill practicing with the team and preparing doesn't mean he isn't going to miss a game or two.

LSU closes afternoon football practice, one guess why? Yeah, I'd say Jeremy's back on the team. Les to update near 6, not sooner. @WBRZ

He didn't suspend t bob for any games and he almost killed someone driving drunk

He backed into a parked car outside the party he was leaving.

I'm not justifying his actions, but I think you are over exaggerating a bit.

No, I'm clearly asking why a segment of the LSU administration that isn't involved in athletics, has no direct responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the football team, and has limited familiarity with the person in question is now sanctimoniously meddling in a decision that lies beyond the scope of their experience and expertise.

Whether or not to suspend Hill is an issue best addressed by the head coach in conjunction with the athletic director, not a bunch of moralistic academics or beauracrats whose judgment is likely affected by an unseemly array of biases, fueds, and ulterior motives.
