Drew Brees vs. Kurt Warner (At their Best)

They're similar in that they run/ran phenomenal offensive systems. Warner has the MVP but Brees probably should have won it in 09 (Toss up with him and Manning that year imo). Both have one ring and both are even better in the playoffs than the regular season (at least according to QB rating).
Who would you take for 1 season at their respective bests? Obviously Brees will come out on top when considering their entire careers but that isn't the question.

As an Eagles fan, this thread pisses me off. If Troy Vincent has a healthy ankle, we beat the Rams.
With that said, Brees is phenomenal.

Rooted for you guys that year..
Would have been one of the biggest upsets ever imo..
Then again..Rams survived only to have the biggest upset in years happen when the Pats beat them.

I have trouble with this question... So simple yet such a loaded question.
Individual greatness as far as QB position then its Brees.
Rams at their best was unstoppable. Marshal Faulk is arguably the greatest All Purpose Backs of all time. In that offense vs Breed in Saints offense I go with Warner. Plus we have Warner in Arizona throwing for 350 yards in the Super Bowl. Balled out the entire playoff but he lost in SB (not his fault).

Brees didn't have the weapons that Warner had.
Pace
Faulk
Bruce
Holt
Are all of those guys HOFers?
Both had innovative offenses.

I've got to go with Brees
But I'm biased
Pick almost any of those years Warner was killing it with the Rams but still Brees best season is probably better

Brees had/has zero HOF caliber guys on offense (maybe Graham eventually but we won't know that for 10 years) where as Warner had Faulk and two borderline HOF caliber receivers. Give me Brees, I am biased I admit.

Both precision passers in up tempo offenses. Gimme Brees.

id have to say brees because his numbers in his best season were like the greatest ever in a season for a qb as a whole and he didnt have anywhere near the talent warner had.

pretty much this
and Warner has also had Holt/Bruce/Hakeem/Faulk
and Fitz/Boldin in their absolute primes in Zona.
I love Marcus Colston but I've always wondered what Brees would look like if he had a killer WR duo.

This is how I feel and I am not biased. I know the thread asks "at their best" but Warner did do pretty damn well with less talent in AZ than he had in STL. It will be interesting to see what Brees does toward the end of his career

Drew cause he's not made of glass

Could make the case Brees has superior coaching.
As much as I like Dick Vermeil he's not as good a coach as Payton imo.

Brees, and it's not close.
Warner was always overrated trash. If he is not surrounded by top 1-2 receiving corps, he's damn near useless.
Tampa Bay slowed down the Rams in '99, and had they had a even a mediocre offense that year, they beat them.

Mike Martz was one of the best offensive minds in the modern NFL.
