Would be really good in a SHTF situation though.
That will be its primary role.

Ruger now has the BX-50. It's two BX-25's screwed back to back. Shoot 25, then flip over and shoot the other 25.
Cabela's BX-50
Ruger mags are best because they can be unscrewed and taken apart for cleaning

Id say almost 70-80% owns one. I have two. But I do have a question for my fellow OBers. I have a 10-22 that was in a very bad wreck and the barrel is bent and pushed it back into the action. Is this repairable?

Probably. Just replace the with KIDD and get a GM barrel.

Anyone here own a Ruger 10-22?

Lots of good advice already mentioned in this thread.
To sum it up for you: the 10-22 is pretty much the epitome of the quintessential 22 caliber, semi auto rifle. If wanting a high cap magazine ONLY go with Ruger's BX mags(25 or 50 rounders). All of the aftermarket mags have a history of causing issues(not saying that someone could have gotten one that's never caused an issue though)

Should be able to get a replacement barrel and receiver/action assembly.
I wouldn't take my chances on "repairing" it.

10/22 owner here.....love it. Very reliable and I have it dialed in at 50 yards.....deadly.
I love going to the range and watching my boys shooti it.

is that a gray towell or sweatshirt? It frames the paper towels the best

It's one of the most fun things to plink with. Throw a 25 round mag in and drop 25 targets in 25 seconds. A blast.

Yes, a 10/22 and a 96/22 lever. Woohooooooo!

I have that 50 rd you mention. No real issues with it.

I have been looking at the HC3R mags. Looks pretty solid.
I bought one. Jammed the first time I took it out to the range. Still has the jammed rounds in it. I couldn't get them out without tools. The build quality appears good though. The Battledyne mag I bought had no issues.

My Marlin is gonna hate me when I get one

I do not own one but I have one that belongs to a friend of mine. I am taking it completely down and giving it a good cleaning. We shot it today.....I will take my Mossberg Plinkster any day over this 2x4. Don't see what the fuss is over them. I thought I wanted one but now, not so much. flame on
