LSU, Gators and Vols carried Bama for Years

There is a post about the future SEC stadium expansion on SEC rant that showed Ole Miss, Miss State, and Ky are just now expanding to around 70,000. This got me thinking
Before its first expansion Tiger Stadium held 68,000. Back then the SEC teams split the gates (before TV contracts). Obviously Ole Miss, Miss State, and Ky held less than LSU. So did Bama and Auburn. I am not sure of Ga. But Tenn & Fla were larger than or same size as LSU. That’s why Ole Miss, Bama, Miss State played in some games off campus in Jackson, Legion Field, etc.
The point is the big stadiums at LSU, Fla and Tenn carried the other teams financially for years. But all we hear about is Bama.

You're right. Bama was winning countless nattys but we carried them
aside from Ohio state and nd, Bama has one of the largest fan bases in the world.

I wonder why we heard about Bama? People should have been talking about who had the biggest stadium rather than who was winning all of those stupid championships.

I was talking about the financial impact not championships or records. However without paid tickets you don't have the money to do what is needed to win a championship
The point is Bams, like some other teams, got one of their largest paydays, other than a bowl game when it played LSU.
I am not talking about fan bases but paid fans in the stadium,
BTW if they have such a big fanbase, why wasn't their stadium larger until recently.
