I didn't realize students at Grambling couldn't apply to go to Tech instead.

No, they can but are discouraged as the students there are comparable to the students at Ole Miss in 60's. Would you attend a school like that with that kind of environment? Yeah, don't that question you racist.

Southern should merge w/ LSU.

Actually, that's not a bad idea. I have a friend who was appointed to the Louisiana Board of Regents who mentioned they might consider that option if the economy does not pick up.

So, if they don't want to go what is the problem?

ULM has a much better chance being merged into Tech. So by your logic, Southern should merge w/ LSU. Dumb arse

Or maybe TECH should merge into ULM.

I'm not sure, but Jackson really needs to host a bowl game over Shreveport's Indy Bowl or New Orleans' Sugar Bowl.

Because nobody wants to get shot at in that shitty arse town.

Between the question about merging Tech and Grambling and the statement regarding Jackson hosting a bowl game over New Orleans, I can't take this thread seriously.

I can understand your concern, but by that logic you don't want to ever attend the Sugar Bowl. New Orleans has one of the highest if not the highest murder rates in the country.

At least I'll be having fun when I get shot

Jackson is like a small New Orleans with nothing fun to do and no safe parts. Unless you stay inside the gated community of Milsaps

Just a side note, but has anyone else wondered why Tech has not merged with Grambling State? They are located in essentially the same town. I guess the Tech administration wants to keep things stuck in the 50's.

That's more grumbling than la tech....

Thank you for the compliment regarding millsaps as I graduated from there and my grandmother was a distinguished english professor who helped organize sit-ins within the Jackson community during the 60's.

With regard to "nothing fun to do" there are several bars that I'm positive you would have a good time notably Frank Jones Corner (located on our version of bourbon street) where you can listen to some of the best blues around.

Additionally, we have just elected a very progressive mayor in Chokwe Lumumba who will take this city to the next level (which is why I suggested getting the BCS style bowl game).

Also, as a result of this new leadership, I would advise all to buy real estate in Jackson as the prices should jump significantly in the next 2 years.
