Here's the deal....HBCUs served their purpose during the Jim Crow years of the South affording AAs an opportunity to go to college. Now, they serve no purpose, other than being a drain on state budgets, and accepting students who should never be in college. The AA population would NEVER support the merging of one of the HBCUs into a mainstream university....NEVER! It's sad, really.

I'm not sure, but Jackson really needs to host a bowl game over Shreveport's Indy Bowl or New Orleans' Sugar Bowl.

There is so much fail in your statement that I don't know what to say. I guess LSU accepts only future leaders of America. Freaking dummy!

All colleges/universities are hurting in LA.

HBCU's are made out to he the scapegoat. Yes it is easier to get into and yes they get more funding per student but it really is a statewide problem.

Consolidation needed to happen 20 years ago. Nicholls St. being the prime example. I have a special place in my heart for Nicholls but I dont think its fair to the students/professors that are faced with huge budget cuts, and its just sad to see what once was a proud university become what it is all I am saying.

Leave the HBCU's alone. They are no more superfluous than any other state school beyond LSU Merge the "black" universities that have no historical relevance, other than they were set up by segregationists, like SUNO and the one in Shreveport. If the SUNO students don't meet UNO's standards, they can go to Delgado for 2 years and then transfer in.

I will not

If there is a problem that needs to be addressed, I am sorry. The whole states public education sustem is hurting and just offering my opinion on the best way to help alleviate the problem but still help everyone involved.

I agree. But all the schools need to be evaluated and targeted. I just think the non H, BCUs are pretty obviously redundant. After that, I just don't see Grambling being any more redundant than Nichols State, e.g. And I think we probably need most of the schools anyway... you want all of them at LSU? The schools just need to tighten up the mission, adhere to the mission and eliminate some things that are financial drains.

Disagree, I think a white helmet would look great with the updated helmet sticker.

Thank you for the compliment regarding millsaps as I graduated from there and my grandmother was a distinguished english professor who helped organize sit-ins within the Jackson community during the 60's.

Cool story bro

Also, is Tech updating its uniform template like LSU has done for the 2013 season? Since LA Tech and LSU use the same uniform just different colors?

I've seen Ole Miss has.

I totally agree but please start new thread for further discussion on this nonsense.
