The perfect actor to take over Batman

The wife and I were watching The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) the other night
I had forgotten that the current Superman, Henry Cavill has a supporting role in that movie.
I watched the chemistry he had with the star of the film, Jim Caviezel...and it occurred to me...Caviezel would be the PERFECT actor to play Batman when they make a Justice League movie.
Am I nuts?
I hate all the other names I've heard bandied around, such as Armie Hammer.

Private Witt: I seen another world. Sometimes I think it was just my imagination.

Jon Hamm would be a good Bruce Wayne. Not sure how he'd do with action scenes though.

I can't see it. He always seems so subdued, lacks intensity imo.

Disagree - go watch the Count of Monte Cristo

Cavaziel might be too old. Whoever takes over needs to be able to do two or three movies over a 6-8 year span.

I couldn't possibly disagree more.
He came to talk to us at Jesuit once about the Passion of the Christ.
Dude was impossibly intense.
Like he was about to start speaking in tongues.
I just don't know if Caviezel has bulk enough.

Who should be the director of the reboot trilogy?

Jason Bateman
He can be a dorky, yet charming Wayne and bumble around Gotham.

He is 44 years old, so I could agree with that, but I do like the idea of Batman being a bit older than Superman...

Michael Cera is the clear choice for the next generation of Batman movies. Easily.

I think Jake Gyllenhaal would do a good job as Batman. A lot of people probably wouldn't like that choice. But there is no doubt he has the depth to play Batman.
