He definitely appears to becoming a smarter pitcher.
It looks like buster made that tweet and this month he started cranking out 93-94 mph fastballs.

He has a contract way beyond what he is actually worth.

His velocity is descreasing, but the movement he has been getting on his pitches is insane. He also has fantastic control. He'll throw 92 mph fastballs that almost look like split-fingers.

What about Verlander? His FB has declined and his ERA rose, should the Tigers be concerned?

Verlander has had some terrible luck. HIs BABIP is an insane .347. His K's are actually up, his HR rate is down and his ground ball rates are identical to last season. The only concern I see with him is that his walks are up over 3 per 9 IP. The only other season his walks were that high was 2008 which happens to be his only full season with an ERA over 4.

how is that a dumb statement??? I guarantee he won't be a top 20 pitcher the last 2-3 yrs of his contract

I hate the Nintendo owners for fostering incompetence at every level from coaching to general managing.

Honestly doesn't seem that drastic. 3 MPH over 5 years? Big deal.

Yeah I am sure he'll be a shell of himself when he's 33 years old.

I wish he pitched for somebody good.

The Yankees, Rangers, Red Sox, Dodgers, Giants, Nationals all need pitching help it seems

As someone who watches every single Mariners game, it isn't really a secret that Felix has made a point to take a tick or three of his velocity in favor of more movement of his pitches. He still dials it up to 95/96 on occasion but he's basically becoming Greg Maddux. I don't think it has anything to do whatsoever with potential arm troubles. Knock on wood

Its 3 Mph in 3 years and he's down to 91 at age 27

But a you pointed out earlier don't the results indicate that this is an intentional strategic move rather than arm fatigue.... Making it not that alarming?

As long as its not a continuing trend. Mayb he levels out at 92, which is perfectly fine.
