re: Biden campaign slams Facebook after thousands of ads blocked by its pre-election blackout
Posted by wickedretro on 10/29/20 at 11:29 pm to The Quiet One
As someone who's entire business is in digital marketing and who does a ton of ad buys on FB and in the political space, I can say this is just straight up their team dropping the ball. Facebook only sent out about 12,000 emails over the last month letting everyone know that there was going to be this black out period and to make sure they had everything reviewed prior to the 27th.

Not that anyone is wrong by referencing the crowds. They could be doing this for the teams that have to travel. These teams aren’t flying charter

Seattle is epic, especially in summer.
Portland is the weirdest place on earth. Everyone just trying to outweird one another. But it's the strip club capital of US. Pirate stripper club, vegan strip club, kareoke strip club. If it's weird, they have it

re: Neighborhoods to stay in San Diego
Posted by wickedretro on 8/15/18 at 2:07 am to tduecen
San Diego resident of 10 years chiming in here:
Depends on the vibe you're looking for. All those neighborhoods are so different
La Jolla: depends on if you're in the Village or in UTC. Specify. UTC is the mall area and no really that cool unless you like going to malls alot. The village is super chill. Some pretty good restaurants: Prepkitchen, Puesto, fancy steak houses, a lot of subpar farm to table, chain-y type places that are overpriced. Will be more laid back, but getting in and out of the village is a pain.
Point Loma: safe area if you're off the highway a little. It's homeless central right off the highway. Not really a tourist spot, unless you're gonna chill at Liberty Station.
Ocean Beach: it's the hippy part of town. I find it to be really endearing and super chill. Not the best beach in town but the most laid back part of town. Lots of weed to be had everywhere. Good restaurant and bar on the beach right there called OB Surf Lodge which has the most ridiculous Mai Thais. Me and the boys go there every Friday and get tanked and watch all the talent cruise by.
Little Italy: the best part of downtown. Close to the bay and waterfront. Convenient to get to from the airport. Great restaurants everywhere. Pretty central. Can get to the zoo and Balboa Park in like 10 minutes. Best restaurant in town Born and Raised is there, but you'll need to call like a month in advance to get in.
Other areas to consider: North Park/Hillcrest-close to tons of great restaurants and bars.
If you're wanting to stay like a baller check out Del Mar or Rancho Santa Fe, but little more a trek down into the city.
Can't go wrong with any of those areas though. It's been hot as a mf'er recently though.

re: Question about streaming live sports
Posted by wickedretro on 8/22/16 at 11:58 pm to Zappas Stache
Thanks fellas. Yeah I'm most concerned with Pac12 Network. Might just have to bar it for those games. Think I'm just gonna go with the highest speed internet then roll with Vue. Thanks for the advice
Question about streaming live sports
Posted by wickedretro on 8/22/16 at 9:46 pm
Just a quick question about cutting the cord and still streaming sports. The scenario is that I'm about to cut my cable out and go with the highest internet option from ATT. I'm wanting to watch games on Pac12 network when the season starts. I notice that now I can watch their content through the PAC12 Now app or whatever they call it.
I'm wondering if I can still watch that content with just the internet option because I'm still going to be signing in with my internet password? Or am I SOL if I just have the internet service and no cable package.
Thanks in advance.

re: Scott Frost as OC
Posted by wickedretro on 11/29/15 at 5:47 pm to DeltaDoc
Why would he take a lateral position at best and leave a team who has a more talented offense perfectly tailored for the system he runs? FFS, some LSU fans have gone full tard.
re: NBA fantasy ultimate team, who ya got?

If you're just going strictly off fantasy scoring it would be AD and Harden or Westbrook. Probably Harden because he's more durable.
re: If you could punch one athlete in the face, who would you choose?

Easy answer: Phillip Rivers /thread

No. Sark is a terrible coach. They didn't call him Seven Win Sark for no reason. Will always Oregon's beeyotch

People saying that Oregon's DLine got dominated weren't watching the game. The reason the Ducks got trashed is because the linebackers didn't even get off the bus to plug any of those running lanes. The DLine was routinely getting a 2-3 yard pushback on OSU's line. The defensive gameplan was also attrocious.
re: Oregon Ducks: Perennial Disappointments
Posted by wickedretro on 1/13/15 at 12:38 am to Lsuhoohoo
Where were the people who were saying they got dominated in the trenches after they destroyed FSU in the trenches. Oregon's DLine was terrible tonight. The problem was the lack of defensive gameplan by Pellum. How do you not rush any linebackers to plug those holes and go into the game planning to shut down Jones and let Elliot run roughshod over you? Dumb. And this is a guy that LSU is looking at for DC
re: Anyone ever been to Seattle?
Posted by wickedretro on 1/9/15 at 3:30 pm to Rox
Best city in America. Just simply incredible. There's a ton of overcast days, and the rain isn't torrential, but the summers are epic as hell. If you like overcast days like I do, you'll love it
re: Which rock singer is the best lyricist?
Posted by wickedretro on 1/5/15 at 5:46 pm to The Dudes Rug
I'm actually a singer in a professional rock band right now and this is my biased and some of my greatest influences.
Brandon Boyd is an incredible lyricist. Most people don't get it from what I can gather but his work is so original.
Jay Buchanan of Rival Sons writes incredible lyrics, and in my opinion is the best vocalist on the planet right now
The unquestioned GOAT is Robert Plant. Best lead singer that ever walked the planet and ever will.

After the renovations it is an absolute gem. People saying otherwise haven't been there recently or just don't know what they're talking about. During a huge game, there's nothing like it
