Five candidates have emerged in Stanley "Skip" Bertman's head coaching search

Bobby Petrino, Louisville
Houston Nutt, Arkansas
Les Miles, Oklahoma State
Bobby Williams, LSU assistant
RC Slocum, former TAMU coach
this was per Dr. Jerry Punch as sideline reporter at the Capital One Bowl against the Hawkeyes. Seems like Kirk Ferentz was mentioned a lot more.

These guys have emerged? Even a Les Miles hater can appreciate our coach when compared to these guys. Sheesh.

Nutt would have been a dumpster fire. Petrino's offense would have been fun to watch but he'd never survive around lsu's coeds.

it was pretty bleak because saban left us at a terrible time
a month or so earlier and LSU would have had Spurrier

Williams might have gotten skip fired

Yeah that one was a no brainer.

I think RC got a courtesy interview as a favor by NASA boy to the Bushes, but was a not a serious candidate.
The only guy that list worth a flip beside Les is Peterino. I heard he was a raging dick in his interview and after Saban, they probably were not going to hire another guy that was a jack arse to every one.
IIRC Fisher got a little run, looking back he's the only guy that was a legit candidate besided Miles that I think I'd rather have.

I wouldn't have had a problem with Fisher, but lots of folks were worried he would be another Archer

I wanted some one with HC experience, it had nothing to do with Archer, but at that time the only guy who had gone from coordinator to a big program and won in a while was Stoops.
I think Fisher may have been a little young but we had so much talent he would have won early while he learned the job. He's proven he can hire a good staff and recruit. I think he would have done about the same as Les.

Saban left us in January. Our options were extremely limited.
Skip did the best he could.

This thread is confusing me.
Did I step into a time bubble?

It's hard sometimes to understand or relate to the actions of heartless and soulless people.
