Sidenote to this thread, DC Comics just announced that they're doing a new series surrounding Superman and Wonder Woman and it's going to debut in August/October. This is pretty interesting. Time will only tell if this relationship in the comics is going to affect the movie universe, especially if they do the Justice League movie.

Methinks theunknownknight doesn't know shite about movies. Then again, I read your god awful way of how you would have ended the movie, so yeah you really don't know shite about movies.

Superman could have fun with a woman like her for one thing.

Ya know, since he can't with LL.

BTW, it's ironic that Henry Cavill is actually dating someone IRL that could pass for Wonder Woman.

I'm talking about this chick....

Who should Supes pick?

I was a little disappointed. I'm all for trying something new with the story, but I also felt like something was missing. I guess i got used to Jonathan Kent playing such a big role in smallville, I felt a little cheated when we only saw a couple 2 minute flashbacks of him in MoS. Also, the first half of the movie felt rushed IMO. I would have liked to see him make some sort of grand public display in metropolis right after he put on the suit, instead he just flew up to a military base and surrendered. I would have been nice to see him save a few people or stop a bank robbery while wearing the suit before Zod invaded, just to add a little more of a comic book feel to it. I still enjoyed the movie though, and I will still buy the Blu ray and see the next MoS. A few disappointing moments in one movie can't destroy a character who has been around longer than any other superhero.

Thinking he was still in that "if the world finds out who I am, they will reject me" mode before Zod came pouncing about.

That's true, i didn't think about that. Oh well, i'm sure we will see much more of that in the second movie.

I'll also add: the drawing of Superman's blood will play a factor in the sequels.

I agree. I think that the blood could be used to make Kon-el aka Conner Kent (The clone that was created from Superman and Lex's DNA). This would be a good way to introduce Lex and open the door to a justice league or Teen Titans movie.

frick all of that nonsense.

Superman doesn't need to be stopping bank robberies. That's shite for Spiderman to handle. Superman deals with next level shite.

Superman needs to stop hurricanes and earthquakes. Not bank robberies which barely happen anymore

You can't predict earthquakes and they can last sometimes only a few seconds. How do you expect him to do that shite?

As for hurricanes, the hell do you want him to do?

I'm thinking more like 9/11 type situations. Maybe something like a massive cruise ship getting stranded out at sea. You know, stuff that you need a god-like being to fix/prevent in moments.

At least you didn't complain that he killed Zod in this version (like others have bitched about)...forgetting what happened in the Superman II movie. Where do they think they went when they fell...fricking Narnia?

literally since the first time I saw that movie as a little kid I thought he was supposed to have killed Zod there.

I recently found out that in a director's cut (or something) they're picked up by some Kryptonian police ( or some shite like that). That's still a complete cop out and nonsense, but for the actual sake of the argument apparently they didn't die.

Questions I had:

1) If the Codec thing was somehow implanted into Superman's DNA, why couldn't Zod's people just use the DNA from the blood they drew to get all the genetic information they needed? Why did they need Superman for that? Every DNA strand in every cell in your body is the same, they just serve their own specialized funtion. So they should just need 1 complete strand to get what they want.

2) If the people of Krypton had spacecrafts and everyone knew the planet was going to blow up, why didn't they just get in one and leave? You would think that a few would leave anyway. If it was easily found out that you could be a super being on another planet, wouldn't that be your destination if you were them? Shouldn't a lot more of them show up?

3) How did a great scientist, Superman's dad, own a seasoned warrior in General Zod in one on one combat? I mean he seem to easily beat down the general. Was Jor-El a warrior as well (thought they were bred to be one thing, so shouldn't he be just a scientist).

well shite. I didn't make that meme but I've been thinking all of that for a week. It's the only thing that makes sense to me.

or something where you have Lex running a Metallo type character? But something will come from the empty pod and I'm really hoping it's not Supergirl

The way they explained it made it seem like each individual cell had one person attached.

Lara Zor-el - Supergirl - was on that ship, but she's been dead for over 18,000 years.

And yeah they codec was essentially Krypton's entire genetic code as it was all planted into Superman's individual cells.

As for Jor-el being a bad arse, just because you are a scientist doesn't mean you can be a bad arse too. Smart guys know you need to be able to throw down from time to time especially when your species and your son's survival is at stake.

Pretty sure that ruling class wasn't letting anyone off the plast. Where would they go? All of their outposts failed several millennia ago. Krypton's heyday had long long passed.

You've established repeatedly in this thread your ignorance of Superman.

You just mixed up Supergirl with Superman's mom.
