Lara Zor-el - Supergirl - was on that ship, but she's been dead for over 18,000 years.
it's sci-fi man, prob take four mins to come up with an explanation.
she was in the pod (which kept her alive or something) and when Clark activated the ship, she was re-animated and then escaped. Who knows

Workable...remember that a leak in the suspended animation tube is what fricked Stewart in the original Planet of the Apes movie. Could just as easily have happened to a Kryptonian vessel.

Supergirl is Kara Zor-El.
Superman's mother is Lara.

I liked it and took it for what it was...a comic book movie.
The only thing I would have liked to see more of is the "mystery man doing hero things" stuff. Folks whispering about a guy who no one knows popping up and then disappearing after saving the day. I liked the stuff they touched on about that.

Nothing about Superwoman excites me.
I do like the notion of having Lex going insane and having world catastrophic destruction to test Superman in the next film. If Zod and Superman did the damage they did fighting, imagine what Lex could do on a global scale. Nuclear bombs, airplane crashes, buildings blowing up, etc. Bank robberies are about as sad as it gets, but seeing Lex frick shite up 'Joker' style, while having Superman make choices, would be fun to watch. Id enjoy Nolan's interpretation of a Lex Luthor

i see this Luthor as being driven by his belief that Superman is a danger to the planet from his experience watching his fight with Zod
If Luthor causes any destruction, i think it'll be made to look like Supes caused it so as to make him look bad in the public eye
or even setting something up to where superman, himself believes he caused some terrible incident

Saw it today and loved it. One of the few movies I wanted to watch again as it was ending. I would go see it again. I've always been a huge Superman fan.

I saw it today and liked it much more than I thought I would. I didn't have much expectations for it due to the early trailers being all about story and the late trailers pushing an action heavy look, I thought it would miss on both. Turns out that it hit on both pretty well and I am actually pretty happy they didn't push the whole growing up learning powers bullshite for half the movie like most reboots go back to.
I thought the action, while completely over the top, was pretty well done and solid. The Zod bitch was bad and Zod himself was a bad dude.

I liked it and kept getting emotional during the Johnathon Kent scenes. However, the fight scenes were way too long. One reason I was never a fan of Superman is because he is too powerful. The fights were proof of that. There is nothing at stake. I also thought it was a joke how Zod is so invincible yet can have his neck snapped. This got a lot of laughs in the crowd. Oh and is Louis Lane this annoying in the comics? My god I couldn't stand her and how they shoe horned her in every important scene that she had no right to be in (was it really needed to have her on the ship?)I am an Amy Adams fan but this made me dislike her. Her face looked super puffy in this too for some reason.

But he's not invincible. I am "Superman" to an ant but another human could break my neck. Same concept with Zod and Superman.

So a hand can kill him but being smashed into building after building doesn't? I also didn't care how they did the flashbacks. It would have been better if they showed him grow up from the beginning in order.

I bet Ihop, 7/Eleven, and the phone company paid out of the arse for those blatant plugs. Did we really need to see Ihop mentioned 3 times?

Yeah, I thought that would've been a good way to approach it as well.

If the people of Krypton had spacecrafts and everyone knew the planet was going to blow up, why didn't they just get in one and leave? You would think that a few would leave anyway. If it was easily found out that you could be a super being on another planet, wouldn't that be your destination if you were them? Shouldn't a lot more of them show up?
I thought it had something to do with their phantom drives and the ability to leave the planets orbit.
only ships equipped with a phantom drive (like supermans) could leave krypton and travel through space.
remember zod told superman that they came out of the phantom zone when krypton was destroyed but only when they incorporated the phanton drive into their ship were they able to travel the universe in search of superman.

Too many plot holes and stolen storylines for me to enjoy it
Jor-el falling off the ledge to have a flying beast swoop under him, stolen from LotR
The whole Krypton imagery and destruction straight out of Star Trek
That it took years for Clark to master superpowers, yet Zod did it in 24 hours
The death of Jonathan Kent. He raised his son to be there for the world, but he was willing to abandon his own wife, just so Clark could keep his secret a few years longer
The ease of snapping Zods neck, vs the fight with the girl and the big guy was a stalemate until she was hit by a manmade weapon
The illogical destruction of Smallville and Metropolis. Super was indoctrinated to not allow that to happen
The whole Jor-el communication abilities. Creepy
The whole Perry White storyline?
Lois falling for Clark first, before he was Super

in a sleep statis pod that kept her vitals to a minimum and then once the ship crashed she was essentially trapped in the ice all the while her body was soaking up the radiation that penetrated the ice from the sun which was just enough to keep her life substained and then when clark activated the ship her pod opened releasing her.

I don't see anything wrong with this. I am more offended by the fact that they expect the world not to recognize Clark Kent because of glasses (yeah it's part of the comics but is retarded).

a child versus a seasoned warrior breed krypton general.
Once superman told him how his mother had taught him to control his urges ZOD was able to start contolling his.
