There is a staunch base of nerds that, believe it or not, hate the Nolan films. Like Devin Faraci. They think the Nolan films are dour, have horribly underdeveloped female characters, and are dark just to be dark.

They are idiots who would never be pleased.

I've read a lot of reviews on this movie, and I rarely ever read any of those, and I think some people are down on this flick just to be different.

Damn hipster reviewers!

Yeah it looks like there are those that still want the old feel that are bashing it.

It doesn't bother me. If you they loved Superman Returns, I don't share their taste in film anyway.

Why are yall so concerned with critics reviews? I never put much stock in the critic scores on Rotten Tomatoes. I'm much more concerned with what regular people thought than some pretentious critic.

Case in Point.

I'm not a Nolan fanboy but those are pretty lame criticisms of the Batman films.

The Libtards over at The Daily Beast aren't impressed.

I read the headline, started to read the article, and then decided A) I didn't want to be spoilered, and B) what do I care what a bunch of lefty twatwaffles think anyway?

That was the worst review I've ever read. She thinks way to highly of herself to be taken seriously.

I dont care for Seth roger, but I love pretty much every main character in that. I thought it looked hilarious.

I've never been excited about MOS, I like Snyder and Nolan of course, but Superman just doesn't do it for me. The superhero genre in general is getting on my nerves right now. But if being too much like Batman Begins is it's knock, then that's a pretty good sign. Batman Begins is one of the 3-4 best superhero movies of all time.

Sounds to me like a bunch of butthurt hipster pussies who would rather be "different" by bashing a film that is not only visually stunning and testosterone fueled, but one with actual substance. A rebirth of an American Icon told by one of the best storytellers walking the earth. Any film that isnt about drinking a Caffè caramel macchiato latte frappacinno with half a splenda and cream while bitching and whining about their parents and life just isnt "cool". Reviews like "whatever" scream some dude/chic that is pale white, "skinny" jeans and a tight florescent v-neck t-shirt with hipster black glasses on with the above described concoction in hand. If someone cant appreciate the vision and storytelling of Nolan, they clearly have issues. Im sure getting stoned and watching Seth Rogan talk about weed and the end of the world is much cooler to bandwagon than MOS.

Or.....Maybe im just getting old

Have you seen the movie? How do you already love it?

Edit: I kind of hate critics, most of them. I've made that know on here for a while now. For some of the reasons you mentioned. If a critics top few films each year aren't indie or foreign films it's like it's a sin and you aren't a legit critic. I guess that's what you mean by hipster. Most go into a movie with their mind made up on certain movies and that's that. If they dislike a movie and over time it ends up being considered an all time great they just change their opinion in it and say they love it now. Like its impossible for a popcorn flick to be one of the best movies of the year to a main critic.

But aren't you doing the same thing with this? You haven't even seen the movie but yet it's visually striking and has actual substance. Same as critics do with certain movies. And it's superman, it might turn out to be a fantastic, fun, killer movie. But there's only so much substance superman can have.

I havent seen it, but I might as well have with all the damn previews. You do have to admit it does look visually stunning. How do I know it has substance? Well thats simple. All of the Nolan films have some type of substance to them(with exception of TDKR-IMHO). I like the story line he designed with Clark Kent being reluctant to be different. Super powers or not, he is different. An outcast if you will. Taking the "first contact" storyline was clever. I do admit Im biased because I was raised a Superman fan before anything. With that said, I hope its great. Like I have said before, with Synders visual effects, Nolans storytelling, and Zimmers musical composition, it could be a movie about a dead tree and it would be, at worst, entertaining.
