Too bad they're all technology guys. I would cry tears of joy if Chris Berman or Lou Holtz got shitcanned.

Wonder how many minorities in that fired list.

His new Star Trek commercial was really funny and made me like him for a change

Oh, there are hundreds of people over at the Worldwide Leader who should be fired. Screamin' A and Skip Bayless are way up there, but I can avoid them by not watching that stupid show. Berman and Holtz ruin my enjoyment of football.

How can they justify this? Seems like to me ESPN is doing to well to lay people off

Can't read the link, can someone summarize a bit before going into the full on anti-espn diatribe about every talking head they hate?

Irony is Berman makes in a year for doing jack shite what those 400 employees make in a year combined

Cuts to increase margins and improve shareholder value. These things happen when you are part of a publicly traded company. The good parts of a conglomerate oftentimes end up having to sacrifice for those groups that are suffering.

This is exactly the kind of thing that makes me mad about these companies doing this kind of thing. They pay some folks millions of dollars, but have to let go hundreds of others to make up for it. I realize it's capitalism, but geez....

Why should Skip Bayless be fired?
Posted on 5/21/13 at 12:33 pm to timbo
maybe they should have offered salary reductions first?
and its not like they actually need the $125 million set they are building for SportsCenter.
a new digital set is not going to improve the viewing experience of the average consumer of a friggin highlight show.

The daily complain about Disney thread has arrived. GE is far worse in their decisions, but of course we don't care.

Their appliances aren't as obnoxious on the air.

GE is much, much more than appliances.
But since this is the MSB, GE has no place here.
And bringing it up on the OT is futile.

You do know why I brought up GE I hope.

they can probably write off most of that. this isnt about cashflow, its about meeting a profit margin. easiest way to do that is an immediate reduction in payroll.
i agree they would be better off firing one of the overpaid "talent" instead of 40 tech guys.
