quote:I try! but, seriously, he's [Eades] had 3 less-than-stellar outings this year, and only one of those has come in the last month. He'll be fine.
Worst 7500th post I've read today.

Berry's postseason audition didn't go very well. Don't expect to see much from him

that's a relief, no pun intended

Only slightly better than the Titanic's maiden voyage.

Eades is a red as a lobster when it's 50 degrees outside. I think his temp runs higher than the average individual. This would explain why his production drops off late in the season when its hot as balls. Of course, I am pulling this out of my arse, but it seems logical. If he gets drafted by a team that plays in a dome, I may have something.

Good, we want him to be relaxed

This is true. So, do we worry about Raph, too? I know that he's never been at last year's level this year, but there certainly was a tailing off factor.

Raph was hitting .500 almost all year, i think everyone knew he would tail off a little eventually. It just came at the worst time. This year, Raph has been steady hovering around .350.

I like this more than starting Nola like we were going to. Unless Smoke Laval comes back this pretty much puts LSU in the drivers seat to win their first two games.
I wouldn't be counting on a Nola/Stanek matchup, though. If Arkansas saves Stanek for LSU they'll probably get beat by Ole Miss on Wednesday.

thats even better for us then. Wahl and Stanek are the only good pitchers really on our side of the bracket. Wahl may not go this week if they dont win at least two games. Stanek went friday so him going thursday could definately be a possibility.

Just wanted to post that Aaron Nola has the 3rd best WHIP in the ENTIRE COUNTRY at 0.81 this season.
I think that's the best stat to use for a pitcher.

WHIP is by far the best stat to use for a pitcher IMO. .81 is flat out dominant. Let's hope he is rejuvenated following his week off and ready to kill it in the postseason.

That's actually a valid argument. I think the heat tires him out. Anyone who says they're not worried about Eades is overly optimistic. He has NOT been the same since Arkansas, and he struggles mightily in the 1st and 2nd innings.

Eades has been fine the past few weeks save Ole Miss. People need to realize he is going to put base runners on most innings but will work out of it most times. He's been that type of pitcher since he's been here.
