Seinfeld was awful as it was a total betrayal of the ethos of the show. A show about nothing with no lessons learned has a finale in which the main characters are forced to confront how awful they all are. It was cheap moralizing and gave the show an out for being as mean as it was. See? They all got punished! It's okay!
They didn't learn their lesson though, and they didn't really seem to care that much.
They were confronted with every horrid thing they did over the course of every season, and then they had the same pointless conversation about the placement of a button on a shirt that they opened the entire show with.
And I'm sure they really felt obliged to have a lot of the wonderful and beloved minor characters on the show, and since all of those characters hated them, they needed a way for them to show up that wasn't some kind of reunion or send-off.

I like aspects of BSG's finale but overall the finale failed IMO.

Big Love.
I think Bill Paxton's character pretty much had to die as his whole world was unravelling, but to have the neighbor's husband, a completely inconsequential character in the stroy arc be the trigger man was pretty shitty.

Forgot about that one, yeah that was a shitty finale. All those enemies he made and it was cause his neighbor went ape shite about yard maintenance...

because it wasnt really a finale, it was a season ending cliff hanger and FOX (aka really the dumbest network of all time) didnt renew for next season. Al Bundy deserved better.
I was thinking this yesterday, they really screwed the show that got people to start watching FOX in the first place.

Dawson's Creek
fricking Joey picks Pacey over Dawson and then says "it's always been you Pacey". No it wasn't, it was always Dawson. She hated Pacey until she was a junior in high school.

so how's this for random, i know many people hated the Quantum Leap finale but i actually liked it.
Love that show to point of potentially naming my first child Samuel Beckett. I really liked the finale, but I know I read somewhere that there was still hope that the show would be picked up for another season and they were toying with the idea of letting Sam leap to the future. Instead it got cancelled and you got the sad white letters on a black screen saying he never returned home

I don't get the hate for the Quantum Leap finale, which ties in brilliantly to the first episode. And the final title card made it dusty in my bear den.

I understand why some people would say the Sopranos because the show was frankly possible to enjoy and feel like you understood while not paying attention to most of what David Chase was doing as a director or writer. In that sense, having the ending that he did (that required you to pick up on all the clues left in the prior seasons and especially the last season) was changing the rules of enjoyment for many viewers.
But if you have the time and interest to back and figure it out what happened to Tony is clear IMO and is very enjoyable because it reveals a sense of completion, theme, and purpose to the entire series. It is an extraordinary thing for Chase to successfully close the show in such a way that really accomplished that.
Here's a long blog on the ending of the Sopranos that I think many may enjoy: MOS

Life on Mars.
Got cancelled before it had fully developed and the writers decided to wrap it up in a bow.

Mash - forgot it was basically a comedy and started taking itself too seriously.
St Elsewhere - one of the best last episodes.

It's not the show's fault but I was pretty pissed the way Firefly ended.
Serenity wrapped it up well though.

True forgot this one, a waste of an ending that could have been really good
