The only team I really hate is the gumps! But then I stop & consider the source. Since they marry their 1st. cousins, who wouldn't stand up for family? By the way I live behind enemy lines but I wear my LSU hat 6 day's a week!

I live in Arkansas, so I hear it a lot. I have a standard response. "Well, I guess everyone can't have good taste." Usually that ends it.

depends on who it is and what how they are saying it. if it's just they hate our football or baseball teams, i just laugh because it is funny and usually said in a joking manner. living here in houston i get some (not a majority) of a&m fans that trash la, baton rouge, the university and anything to do with the fan base or people of la. and i mean with vitriol. i assume that somebody from la pissed on his parade or stole his girlfriend or something. most of the time it turns out to be someone young that has never even spent any time in la or around the people; they just regurgatate what others have told them.

i don't blame ole miss fans for hating LSU. over the years, we have dealt them a tremendous amount of pain and suffering. especially after the vaught years when their competitiveness waned. LSU has broken their hearts so much that when an ole miss fan tells me he hates LSU i pretty much say i don't blame you.

One of my best friends is an Ole Miss alum, and another is a Bama alum. I tell them I hate their schools, and they tell me they hate mine.

We have a beer and move on.

People usually hate us, because they envy us.

you see, alot of people say that there is some extreme LSU-hate coming from UL people. I have never experienced this, yet I've always been assured its there.

I spent mt sophomore year at UL and every Friday during football season was "Wear Red" Friday. being a die hard LSU fan in "hostile" territory I did the only sensible thing. I wore and LSU Football t-shirt every Friday, and (to state the obvious) it wasn't red. I was never told a thing about it or shown any LSU hate. I actually found more LSU fans at UL than haters.

I understand that there are many there who dislike us for the money we get and crap like that, reasons I've never listened to, but I also understand that they are butthurt about us stealing "geaux" ....c'mon man! really!?

I graduated from ULL, but I'm from Baton Rouge.

People in Lafayette can be really shitty towards LSU fans and Baton Rouge natives. I never understood it.

Unfortunately, that's just typical Texan arrogance.

People who hate LSU are just envious they couldn't go there. Same principle as LSU fans hating Saban only because they want him back.

Not that they couldn't get in or couldn't afford it, but that they couldn't leave their comfort bubble enough to explore life outside of Lafayette, LA or Oxford, MS or wherever.

Welcome to Lafayette. I hear that all the time. It doesn't bother me at all. I think it's pretty funny actually.

I guess I just didn't expect it in a professional setting where they're being paid to directly help me. Makes for a difficult working relationship.
