Bringing wife to NOLA in a couple weeks for an overnight. Staying at the Hilton and seeing Wicked at Mahalia Jackson.
What's the best steak in the area?
Apologies - I know this has probably been discussed before, but I'm new to TD.

Some will say Mr. John's. I like Ruth's Chris.

La Boca - rare Hanger steak.

I have a Ruth's Chris in Jackson. I do like it, but looking for something different. Wife would probably prefer a seafood/cajun pasta dish.

Good choice.
My favorite place is La Boca, but if your wife is looking for some of that kind of stuff instead of steak, I suggest Mr. John's on St. Charles.
Best steak though in N.O. to me is the dry aged prime NY strip at Delmonico.

Go to Desi Vega's. It's Mr. John's but in the CBD. You won't have to go as far.

Desi Vega's or Mr. John's (same owners). Get the NY Strip, medium rare.

I've heard a lot of people say La Boca, what is the price point?

Just to warn you on La Boca, it is an Argentinian Steakhouse...so its going to be cuts you are not used to at all. Great place though.

Less than Ruth's and Mr. John's.
They specialize in different cuts of meats like skirt and hanger steaks. Great sides. Great service.
The wine is priced well and can be purchased in glass and half bottle in alot of the selection.
Just an all around cool little place.

Menu with prices.
28 for the hanger, 36 for filet. Gotta get provoleta and the gaucho plate...

O'Brien's Grille. Bone in ribeye cooked Pittsburgh style. It's on the wank, but it's amazing. They also have the best BBQ shrimp I've ever had.
After that...
Mr. Johns
Ruth's Chris
La Boca
