I would just take one from each group
Warrior - Dayne
Sorcerer - Bloodraven
Sneaky Sneaky - Oberyn
Healer - Thoros
Warg - Jon or Varamyr sixskins
Dragon - Aegon/Balerion
Officer - Selmy
Officer - Rhaegar
Officer - Ned
Officer - Grey Worm
I would make it 10. Not unrealistic.

I am disappointed in the lack of love for Grey Worm
The dude was elected leader among 8,000 of the most highly trained slave warrior killers.
You wanna talk about vows?
No sex? Check
Unquestionable loyalty? Check
Badass killer? Check

I realize he had numbers, but nowhere in the novels does it describe him as an average fighter as you put it. It does talk of how the North's fighters are undervalued because they don't really do tournaments and the singers rarely visit to make songs about how bad arse they are. Ever heard of Cregan Stark? Probably not and I just happened to catch his name in passing. Aemon the Dragonknight called him the greatest swordsman he ever met. Point being, the North is full of bad mother's that don't go around trying to pump up their legends. I don't think he was on the other's levels, but he would have made for a great Lord Commander.
GRRM himself said that Ned was at best a competent fighter. Good but only as good as your average person with access to Winterfell's resources.
It is stated in the novels multiple times that Brandon was the true talent of the Stark family. Ned was just average

Grey worm and the unsullied's power resides in their shield wall and their inability to break ranks. It has nothing to do with their individual prowess not to mention that having a eunuch among the other Kingsguard would not help moral at all.

But Grey Worm would be the best be around me at all times Kingsguard.

Hotah would be in that spot for me. No one will frick with that axe

Better than a degenerate whore addict, drunk, woman, or homo ...for morale.

Not in the eyes of the westerosi. It would be like having a black guy in the secret service circa 1950. No matter how much you'd like that guy to be there it's just a bad idea

Well they can suck it.
Grey Worm would be my Jackie Robinson

1) Barristan Selmy- Couldn't ask for a better knight to not lead you astray and he is one of the most skilled with a sword.
2) Jaime Lannister- Yeah, may be a bit untrustworthy, but me and Jaime could chill a bit, as long as he wasn't fricking my wife.
3) Arthur Dayne- Obvious reasons
4) Brienne of Tarth- Loyal, and would be great when people tried to frick with me in front of her that she'd rip them a new a-hole.
5) Loras Tyrell- Strong fighter, and I don't think I'd do much with him aside from being a bodyguard.
6) Oberyn Martell- The member of my Kingsguard I would send out to do my dirty work. If I want someone dead, he'd be the one I'd send.
7) Thoros of Myr- would pretty much always be as close as possible should something go wrong

He is above average if you count every man at arms and sellsword in the realm. Amongst the noble born he is just average.

Obviously I'm biased but I still think my Kingsguard makes the most sense when you take everything that is required from a Kingsguard into account.
A strong, loyal leader - Ned Stark, easy enough
Willingness to sacrifice themselves for you- Brienne and Greyworm for sure (Greyworm would always be with me, a long with Thoros). Ned and Jon probably would as well, they'd at least die in combat for you
Strategic fighters/military tactics- Definitely some brute force here, but you know Ned can plan a battle, and Greyworm and/or Jon, probably Thoros as well could follow through with the plan.
Great Swordsmen(woman)
- Brienne, Thormund, Jon, The Hound, Greyworm, yea, I'm covered
They should be able to work fine as a unit - There may be some tension but that isn't always the worst thing. And with loyal people like Ned, Jon (specifically for Tormund), Greyworm, and Brienne there to watch over the ones you may have issue with, I wouldn't be concerned
Also Thoros is my back up in case I die or someone else dies he can hopefully bring me back
